Zogby: " Kerry has a 54-40 percent edge among newly registered voters"
1 hour, 1 minute ago (6:08 AM, Pacific Time, 11/01/04)...in case you read this and the numbers have changed.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush edged into a one-point national lead over Democratic Sen. John Kerry one day before a cliffhanger presidential election, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Monday.

Kerry was favored by young voters -- those between the ages of 18 and 29 -- by 64 percent to 35 percent, but the size of the turnout in that voting bloc is one of the biggest unknowns of Tuesday's election.

Zogby said he was calculating young voters would account for 12 percent of the total vote, but a larger share would be a boost for the Massachusetts senator. "Each point it goes higher translates into two-thirds of a percent for Kerry if these numbers hold up," Zogby said.

Kerry had a 54-40 percent edge among newly registered voters, another unpredictable group that could be a wild card on Tuesday depending on how many actually vote.

Time for a revolution.

2. The speculation isn't "does Kerry have enough votes"...
...the REAL question lurking in the media today is "will all of the people who have already made a MENTAL COMMITMENT to vote for Kerry SHOW UP and FOLLOW THROUGH?"

If they do, it's over and we WILL have a "clean" election...no doubt over the winner.

6. good point. But, remember, that anger at shrub
is palpable and real. Never before have so many new voters registered. Never before have so many voted early or absentee. Never. Before.

And never, will we suffer from 2 admins in a row from a bushite.

3. 54 40 or fight!
Obscure historical reference from the former Oregon Territory. No offense intended to my canucklehead friends and acquaintances.

4. It's not a surprise
New registrations, especially amongst minorities and youth, ALWAYS favor Democrats.

Thing is, we got to get these people to the polls, and God help us if it rains tomorrow...new voters many times just won't bother to go in the rain.

5. Zogby's wrong about the # of young voters...
According to mydd.com, voters aged 18-29 made up 17% of the voters in 2000, but Zogby says it will be 12% for 2004?? come on, man....
