Millions of poor people were lifted out of their poverty.

Millions of minority members came to own their own home
Not good enough
Millions of jobs created for families
Not good enough
Millions of people were finally able to afford health insurance

When the * voters see what a great president Kerry will be - and I think he will, he could cause a realignment in the Democrats favor that will make the Pubs the minority party for the next 20 years. Not only that, but the Senate could be close enough that 1 or 2 defections from pub to Dem could put it in the Dem column right now.

42. There have been many threads discussing if/how W has divided . . . |
|
...families & friends. It's very sad reading. There are several of us who are not speaking to family members or old friends. And it seems to me it is largely the repubs who will not respect or be respectful of the dem views. I know my own mother continued to send me lots of W crap after I asked her not to. In conversations she will still try to get a rise out of me by spouting off some stupid soundbite she heard on Fox - her only news source.
Invariably, someone will say that you shouldn't let politics ruin a relationship. In the past I may have agreed with that, but no longer. This election is more than politics. It is the difference in how you view the world & your part in it. I believe people who are going to vote for W fall into one of the following categories:
...I have mine & don't give a shit about you. Fuck you. ...I hate gays & I hate women. Fuck 'em both. ...My god is better than your god. Fuck you. ...I am either too lazy or too stupid to question what the media/pundits are spoon-feeding me. I am right & you are wrong. Fuck you.
That said, I won't be in their face about it -- I just won't be there. I have distanced myself so far from the few repub friends I had that they are no longer an issue.
Only my mother is left. I can't bring myself to cut her out of my life completely, but I don't think our relationship will ever be the same. If W steals this election, it's likely she won't hear from me until we have a new ELECTED president - one who is not a puppet of PNAC. If JK wins, I may get over this, but not this year.
This year there will be no shared holiday celebration.

Both my parents are like that. When they come to visit they insist on watching FOX 24/7. I always used to just change the subject and not argue with them, but the last time they were here and started in on what a flip-flopper Kerry was I just exploded. They were stunned. Should have done that long ago, but I was trying to keep the peace.

Being gracious to these morons tomorrow would only be looked upon by them as a weakness on our side. They're not going to be in any mood for a while to unite anything, so stay tough with them until they finally learn some respect. If and when they wake up, then we can talk about healing the divisions that Bush created.

i've had enough of those bastards.
i also hope when kerry gets in that we'll all remember what type of people they are. in the last 12 years, the freeper/republican types have become dangerously passionate about things. once their fratboy messiah is out, they can never be allowed to become the threat to this country that they've been since he's been in office.
