1. I'll be the voice of honesty |

No one knows what will happen. The odds are good for us, but no one knows.
Try to do something else for a while. This stuff will drive you crazy.

2. Concentrate on the stuff you can do, let go what you can't |
|
Seriously. If you're this worked up, you probably shouldn't be hanging around online here. I for one shut this browser down pretty regularly for just that reason.
Here are some ideas:
- Go for a walk - Visit a museum - Rent a nice DVD - Catch a movie at a theater - Do some outdoor work
Basically anything to take your mind off the news, the election, and the rest of it.
Now, if on the other hand you simply can't stay away, consider volunteering in the get-out-the-vote efforts.

4. We don't vote by analogy |

If that bit of history isn't working for you, pick another one. Picture an Esso station in Milan.
Seriously. This is its own event and there are good reasons to be confident.
Hang in there.

6. No, because the polling then was skewed against Truman. |
|
The polling now is skewed towards Bush*. In both cases Republicans were over represented in the samples.
Bush*s numbers are near their ceiling. There is no hidden vote for him. Kerry's numbers are at their minimum. He's got a lot of hidden potential if younger voters and minorities vote in greater numbers than in the past.
