It's Raining in Michigan. I Stood in Line. I Voted. |

There is another vote for Kerry/Edwards in Michigan as of about a half hour ago.
The line was 20 minutes long. I also have to say, I love those octogenarian poll workers, and think they're very valuable... but they can be frustratingly slow. It was worth every minute though when I darkened in the circle next to Kerry/Edwards today.

Will it affect turnout? It's raining and chilly here in Okla, but the lines were very long. Poll workers saying they've never seen it like this.

It's barely a mist right now. It's going to be on and off all day. I don't think it will impair turnout too badly.

I've been doing the best I can but I'm a ways away from there and we have our own "conservative" groups to battle.
As of today I personally have verified 8 votes that I have convinced to vote for Kerry/Edwards.
- Myself (obviously) - My friend Anthony (usually a non-voter) - My friend Kari (usually a non-voter) - My Mom (an Independent, Gore-supporter 2000) - My Dad (voted Bush 2000) - My Sister (voted Bush 2000) - My Brother-in-Law (voted Bush 2000) - My Friend Tina (thought she wouldn't be able to vote because she couldn't find her voter registration card)

6. Ann Arbor: 1-hour line at 9am. Huge Kerry vote |

It's never been this crowded - very unusual. The previous longest wait was 15 minutes. The parking lot was overflowing with Kerry bumper stickers (as is the entire town). Overheard conversations in the polling lines sounded pretty much like DU message boards.
