Amazing news from Polk County, FL |
|
Bush won this county in 2000 with no trouble at all... we're a red county...very very red.
Hubby dearest had the luxury of taking two days off to volunteer. Monday he drove voters, today he drove the food truck. He was supposed to be home by now, but just called to tell me they are "pulling out all the stops." Exit polls (internal) show Polk County is very close... VERY close. They are literally going door to door, asking people if they would like a ride to the polls. In addition, they are calling all volunteers to secure the lines at 7pm when the polls closed. Apparantly the Republican volunteers have been telling people at the ends of some lines that they need to leave now because they won't make it to the booth by 7pm. So hubby and crew are headed out to remind people that if they are IN THE LINE (anywhere in the line) at 7pm, they WILL get to vote. They are taking up arms (figuratively of course - hubby is a pacifist) and they are ready to defend those voters!
This is incredibly exciting. If trends on the I-4 corridor are even remotely challenging to Bush, he is indeed, French Toast!
