If the BFEE indeed had a plan to steal the election, they had to first know how many votes to steal to make it work, and then the time to steal the votes in a way that wouldn't be easily detected.
They needed to encourage early voting so they could count those votes in advance and get a good projection to aim at.
If all the votes were cast on the same day, they wouldn't have been able to figure out the number of votes to steal until it was too late.

The results matched the polls pretty closely.
30% of the country voted touchscreen.
Pretty easy to make sure you'll win. You just program the machines to have it record every third Kerry vote as a Bush vote.
Nobody will ever know.
You don't know. I don't know. That's the perverse beauty of it.
I am absolutely ASTOUNDED that the Democratic party let these machines be used in 2004.
Utterly astounded.
I will never vote Democratic party again;
they are not worthy of my time, money, and have a death wish.
In fact they are already dead. They just proved it
