BOYCOTT WALMART!!
"Wal-Mart's Role in the Presidential Campaign
The infamous Wal-Mart. Whether being commended by Dick Cheney, or attacked for worker abuse, it always seems to find its way into the news. This time it's for large money donations to Republicans. "More than two-thirds of its stores are in states that voted for Bush in 2000 and the "Wal-Mart" effect clearly leans in favor of the Republicans." Its Political Action Committee collected "nearly 1.5 billion dollars in contributions, about 80 percent of which went to Republicans, according to the independent group Political Money Line." The company reported sales of 256 billion dollars last year."

I'm sure many of you already knew this and may not shop at Walmart. I suspected, but didn't bother checking into it. Call me dumb and call me naive.

Starting this very moment I will do everything in my power to make damn sure the shrub supporting bastards don't see another penny of my money.

4. i already do, though not any really around me
but i know there are some on DU where they live in areas where it's just impossible to find places to buy things they NEED other than wall mart. of course this is wall mart's goal. to decrease choices.

but maybe there is some advice for these people who live in these type of areas.

8. We do have a KMart
Target's a half hour drive away.

We also have grocery stores that I'm convinced supports these pukes.

Krogers
Food City
Food Lion
Winn Dixie

There's also Hobby Lobby. That strikes me as a puke supporting corp.

Even a place like Kingsport with Johnson City and Bristol not far away, it seems like our choices are limited.

5. I can't tell you the last time I was in one
not only for the reasons you gave, but they are generally dirty looking, crappily stocked, sell the cheapest crap EVER (notorious for sweat shop labor) and have BAD customer service.

Not worth it, not by a long shot. I do NOT go to Wal-Mart, EVER.

I'd rather peel off all my toenails.

6. Make that all corporate chains
Concentrating wealth and power into the hands of giant chains is destructive to democracy and community.
