1. We're in the process of assembling a list
On my website, and on Timbuk3.com. When it is complete, we'll post it here. I'm sure others have suggestions, too.

5. Groceries are tough
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 09:22 PM by Atman
Here in my part of New England, we are forunate enough to have a chain called Big Y. They are family owned. I know them, and I used to have them as a client. They are not small-town stores, they are as nice and big and diverse as any Super Albertsons, or Lucky or Publix, or whatever the chains are where you live. The owners all live in town, and the contribute a lot back to the local schools and community in general.

BUT...what they sell is the same national brand stuff, for the most part. They buy local produce in season, but everything else comes from distributors, just like any other big chain owned by Royal Dutch Ahold, or whatever. Few people are lucky enough to have a small local grocer anymore. Shopping at a whole foods market helps, as even if they are national brands, organic and health-food brands are far less likely to be GOP contributors in the first place.

Oh, and thanks -- about the web site. I'm trying not to think it was all for naught.

6.  I think this is the wrong approach
it's the little guy we can turn, and it's the little guy we need to make remember who is fighting for him. Shopping there only encourages them to vote for their tax cutting Repukes.
