Some scary web site stats

First of all, let me say thanks to DU...largely from DU, my web site traffic was huge in October...highest ever, with over 120,000 page views. Pretty cool.

That said, I was checking my stats this morning and noticed a measurable amount of traffic from Freeper.com. So I followed the link back, and it took me to a forum which said "This thread has been removed by the moderator. Reason: Language."

Sheesh. That is kinda scary...think of how hateful a thread must have been on Freerepublic for it to be considered too coarse! I'm actually a bit concerned. I've received hate mail since Tuesday, and have already turned some people over their ISP's. Maybe time to cloak my site and start using an assumed name.

In a polite response mentioning "unity" to one e-mail, the guy, claiming to be a vet, said "I didn't ask for unity, you did." Before his nasty tirade about my un-Americanism.

Ironic that the goons who call you, myself, or many other people 'un-American' are the same ones in favor of one-party rule. I may be a Democrat, but at least I see reason for multiple parties (including and especially the GOP) to exist. It's a necessary checks and balances system. Without it, it becomes tyranny.
