I see too many

People here acting like freepers.

Either not bothering to wait and see what the recounts and investigations turn up or assuming there is voter fraud where there may be none or not enough to turn the elction around.

Acting on what they believe to be true instead of reality is what freepers do. It is what we poke fun of them for doing constantly.

Before we throw our hands up in surrender and say Bush won lets make damn sure we have examined every possible case of voter fraud that could overtun the election and determined it to be false.

Before we scream and shout Bush stole the election lets count the votes and investigate the machines and make sure there was enough fraud to change the outcome of the election.

Then after the counting and investigation is done lets look at the evidence and make an informed judgement based on those outcomes. Thats how we intelligent folk do things.

We should not be bickering back and forth, "get over it" , "fraud", "get over it", "Fraud" and on and on and on. We need to be united in making sure that the election was fair and accurate regardless of the actual outcome. Due to some stupidity we may never be able to be 100% certain, but I think we will be able eventually to have a high degree of confidence in the results.

Once we know one way or the other irregardless of who wins we need to see to it that crap like this does not happen again, and that is not going to be an easy or small task. If the election is turned around and awarded to Kerry that will not change the fact that there were significant problems with this election that need serious action to be addressed before 2006.

2. The information is pretty well all in!

Those of us that I know much about who have worked hard and closely on these campaigns do not have to wait until Dan Rather or Bill Oliely pronounce it fraud!
The only remaining questions arise out of whether of not some of the fraud is reversible, and how do we protect democracy, including how effective we can be at forcing a little integrity into the fraudulent election process.

I say we stop attacking each other and work with mod-pubs to help them self destruct.

Because I don't like the tone DU has taken on lately. I know we are so disappointed (and suspicious) of election results, but we don't have time to waste wallowing in despair and sniping at each other. I do think the freeps are having a field day here at our expense. We need to begin healing our hurt, drop the recriminations, stay on top of the voting issues and have a plan to increase and potentially take the House in 06.

I think the super righties are becoming drunk with power and increasingly authoritarian. I cite the following examples;

1. Trying to keep Specter out of the Judiciary Chairmanship.

2. Frist sending the message that fillibusters as a tactic won't be allowed and attemping to change the rules.

3. The CIA guys who have resigned from the CIA this week due to overreaching and confrontations with Porter Goss and his assistant Murray.(CIA in turmoil, not good!)

It seems to me that there are alot of moderate republicans who must be horrified at the thought of the right-wing of their party having absolute power. Bush set the tone with his first post-election press conference when he talked about his "political capital". Well, based on the number of people I have heard calling in their piece of political capital, this should be interesting.

I think there will be alot of infighting in the GOP these next few years as the Senate moderates find themselves increasingly shut out of the decision making process; like us dems, they will feel like a minority party as well. I'm not as hopeful of the House which seems march in lock step. In the House we need a vocal minority.

I want to watch them self-destruct and offer the moderates an alliance with the dems to keep these people under control. I don't know if they would ever consider this, but I can hope. These next two years will be interesting.

In the mean time, we need to identify potential congressional seats and we must contest every race! No republican should be allowed to run unopposed.
