God Bless Sean Hannity!
Now that I've gotten your attention, read Sean Hannity's "We Are Red States" article http://www.hannity.com/story.php?content=/red_states

Thanks to Mr. Hannity, we now have an idea of what kind of force we are dealing with on the right. They've hijacked all the great things about America for their own political gain! Patriotism, Honor, Freedom...all these words have been hijacked by the right-wing and it's time we, as PROGRESSIVES (not liberals, that means nothing anymore), start fighting back with our OWN values, our OWN ideas, and our OWN words.

Something like this:

We are Americans.

We are teachers, lawyers, bankers, and doctors.
We work in factories, warehouses, farmhouses and office buildings.
We attend sporting events, company picnics, church functions, and reunions.
...and we believe we are a united country.

We stand up and sing along when we hear the National Anthem and speak loudly when we recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
We know love and life-long commitment are the foundations of a family.
We honor those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting our children, our families, and our freedom.
We honor those who gave their lives for freedom by respecting the freedom of our neighbors to live the lives they lead.
We know that God gives us the strength to succeed and the wisdom to know the difference between right and wrong.
We ask our teachers and parents to work together in order to help our children succeed.
We demand a maximum return for our tax investments and believe they should be used for the greater good.

We believe in the American birth-right of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
We believe in empowering and giving voices to all Americans.
We believe in is both a right and responsibility to speak out where we feel there is injustice.
We believe in the sanctity of nature and that the beauty of America must be preserved.
We believe in cultivating a culture of service where we develop stronger communities built on empathy.
We believe in working hard and embracing progress in order to ensure better opportunities for our children.
We believe in our cultural inheritance set forth by our founding fathers to never be satisfied with the status quo.
We believe in being a beacon of hope and integrity for the rest of the world.

We are hard-workers, free-thinkers and freedom-lovers.
We are Americans.

Take it, modify it, make it better but most of all BELIEVE IT and PASS IT AROUND because THIS IS WHAT WE STAND FOR!

2. That and a big bucket of HATE AND BIGOTRY
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week803/cover...

Watch the movie.. or read the transcript!

SEVERSON: But his detractors say some of his broadcasts have incited harassment and stifled public debate. Consider his program shortly after 9/11, when he equated environmentalists with terrorists.

Mr. STOKES (On Radio): So when these left-wing lunatic liberals complain that I have somehow connected them to this, yes, you are responsible. The Green extremists out there, the Green Nazis. Look in the mirror; it's your political correctness that has caused these problems.
snip

We need to finish them off and make sure they don't have babies!!!!

This is why the rural counties are RED FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_________________________________

We have to take this serious Im calling all to action

Since the end of the Fairness doctrine radio HATE has taken over our political landscape. We need to reframe this so the HATERS like RUSH and SEAN can not get away with it anymore. No mask, no guise. It is Hate and we need to call it that. American people do not like Hate. They passed -Hate Crime- legislation because they do not like HATE. Let us all give them one more thing not to like. HATE RADIO.

I need help. I am trying to get this campaign going nationwide to change the language we use about radio programs that talk HATE. Many of them have gotten away with talking HATE by using the label/guise of -Conservative- or -Right Wing- talk radio.

Well, I plan to do everything in my power to help change the way America refers to this type of broadcasting. It will be known as HATE RADIO and the people on it will be talking HATE TALK and using HATE LANGUAGE.

http://www.cafepress.com/tesibria/421826 examples! Make your own!

HATE RADIO IS UNGODLY
WWJD Turn off HATE RADIO
HATE RADIO AINT RIGHT

Make your own T-Shirts, bumper stickers etc. I do not care how you do it, but call it what it is. HATE RADIO

about "freedom" and "family values" and thus vote for him because he speaks their language.

Thy Repubs have been exploiting this for 30 years! Isn't it time we did the same?

14. That one got me:
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 01:53 AM by Rev_Karl
I grew up in Montana. Didn't realize it as a kid but Montana has been in decline for a very long time. That state is full of people who have shouldered the burden of corporate extraction. Mines, timber, ranching - every industry has taken the state for everything it's worth, everything.

The mining industry has boomed and died out repeatedly. We saw copper booms, silver booms, gold booms and coal booms. For a brief time Butte Montana, was the wealthiest city in America for its copper (telegraph and telephone wire) Each boom left behind a lot of workers who couldn't afford to move and became cheap labor for the next boom.

They are angry. They only have access to hate and compliant media. The radio is Rush, the newspapers and television are neutered and too few have internet access.

I had to leave Montana because there was no work. My Parents left two years ago because they were sick of the republican b.s.

The residents of Montana stay and wait, as they always have, for the next big thing. The last new steady boom was the cold war - missile silos, survivalists and Air Force bases. It did little for the average Montanan. But it was something.

Now Montanans have only tourism. The minerals are all mined, the trees grow too slowly to boom again and there are more cattle than people. Somewhere in the back of their minds they know they have been cheated. They know they have worked hard as have their mothers and fathers. They know that they’re good people and they know that it isn’t fair.

When they turn on the radio to escape it all there is nothing but hate - they are being misled again.

Montana is red.
