Who is it gonna be? a cheney replacement....
I know people who want it to be Condi. Who else is out there? And could run for President in 2008?

You know this was all staged.

14. If that's the cause
The democrats should fry her ass in the confermation hearings. Of course they will be labled "racists" for that.

25. Before the Electoral College meets
If Cheney steps down before the Electoral College meets, the Republican electors will choose the Vice president. If it occurs between the EC meeting and the inauguration, the Senate chooses by standup vote (no hearings). Only after the inauguration does the presidents choice go before the Senate for confirmation.

Both these two have 2008 aspirations, and whomever fills this slot would have a sig head start in the race.

8. It'll either be a sacrificial wolf in lamb's clothing ...
or it'll be whomever they want to run on '08. I think you're probably onto something about the timing -- some have theorized there's enough Halliburton dirt on Cheney to get him impeached. Shades of Spiro Agnew -- except they have a way to quietly slip Cheney out of the administration without it looking like they're throwing him to the wolves.

Of course, Mr. Shadow Government isn't leaving the theater unless he dies -- this may just be a way to get him offstage conveniently. He can run everything from his quiet, stress-free underground bunker, this way.

10. Of course it's staged.
All the pressure will be off Cheney if he steps down for "health reasons" and no one will probe into his Halliburton bullshit.

The sheep of course are all buying this shit.

Cheney will be kept alive artificially just so he can hold on to power.
Even if it takes a room full of machinery with just Cheney's head hooked up to some tubes.

It doesn't matter. The policy agenda has been set for years now. So I hope it's someone really creepy and scary just for perverse shits and giggles. No one in particular is going to significantly change the enormous challenges that lie ahead for America and the world.
