I am so damn excited for tonight
I love elections. I get so damn excited! It's sorta like the super bowl (which mind you will also be cool). In any case, it's extremely close, and we have a lot of good candidates. So good luck to you all, and may the best man win!

1. When I openly came out for Dean at work
people asked me why I was so interested in politics.

I told them that some people have football, some have baseball, some have soccer, some have hockey.

I have politics.

It's a sport for people with long attention spans.

2. I am the same way
even when it looks like my candidate will lose. Election night in 2000 was like a triple overtime championship baasketball game (in which the other team cheated and the league officials looked the other way). I remember that night too because my weakling computer crashed and I couldn't get any returns via the Internet. Anyway, I'll be ready in November: I have a powerful machine with broadband, hyperthreading technology, 2.8 GhZ, 512 MB or RAM (which I can upgrade further), a cell phone and three TV's. This apartment will have enough firepower to run a small country.

3. It is exciting, isn't it? I've never seen a caucus...
'Can't wait to watch it on CSPAN.
So glad they're showing some.

Starts at 6:30, uh, Iowa standard time, right?

5. It's more like opening day to me
The excitement of that first game, all full of hope for everyone, wondering where the surprises will be, who will win who isn't supposed to, who will not do as well once they start keeping score for real.

I love it. It's the time I feel most American, and remember that that used to be a good thing.

Playoffs start at the conventions. The Super Bowl is in November.

6. Wonder if the results will be known tonight or if we'll have to wait
till tomorrow to find out who placed 1st and 2nd at least tonight. I won't be able to sleep if this is so close it goes into overtime. Arrgh!
