Hell, I still can't get over the GOP winning the Senate seat on the first ballot.
Damn democrats have to get their shinola in order and winnow candidates early if they're going to have a chance at state-wide office.

2. I'm concerned about Louisiana's 3rd Congressional District seat, |
|
There's a run off between 30 year old Republican, Billy Tauzin, son of retiring 12-term incumbent Rep. Billy Tauzin. He capitalized on the family name and a strong push from state and national GOP leaders to lead five opponents by a comfortable margin in the primarily coastal district. Tauzin and the GOP are VERY aggressively attacking Melancon through television ads. For those who don't live here, this is EXACTLY what David Vitter did to win. Sure, Tauzin isn't as experienced as Vitter.
I believe I've seen 4 different Tauzin ads and only ONE Melancon ad. The Tauzin ads focus on Melancon's voting record where he voted for increases in just about every tax. One ad actually uses a photo of John Kerry in the background as Melancon is being portrayed as a liberal.
