If Kerry Sues O'Neill, Can He Also Sue Matt Drudge |
|
Please?
After all, Drudge published all those malicious stories about a supposed Kerry "girlfriend" that turned out to be completely false.
I'd like to see Drudge penniless, forced to work at a Korean souvenir shop on Hollywood Blvd to afford his little hustler buddies.

1. To go after anyone for libel Kerry must prove not only that ... |
|
the statement was defamatory and false, but also that it was malicious--meaning that the person making the statement *knew* it was false but made it anyway. That is pretty hard to prove.
There is a saying with regard to libel: "Truth is an absolute defense." Therefore, Drudge would have the opportunity to cast a pretty wide net with regard to investigating the alleged affair and his counsel would have pretty wide range to question any witnesses.
In a word, it would not be worth it to go after Drudge.

3. I don't think it's hard to prove. |

These right-wingers go to the same cocktail parties. And some are not quiet about their hatred. Lucianne Goldberg, for instance. They hate Dems. They dogged Clinton for more than twenty years. What more proof do you want?
