Question about Republican rules change in favor of Delay
Does anyone know if it possible to see a copy of the vote, to see how the Representatives in my area voted on the rules change? It's not listed on the House website. It was a closed door session, so does that mean no public record exists?

1. No, it was a "voice vote"
the reps don't even have to tell their constituents how they voted.

Neat, huh? :eyes:

3. Legally, do they not have to reveal their vote?
Even to their own constitiuents?

5. There is no record of who voted or how they voted
so I don't know how the constituents could ask for proof.

7. But if one of them asks them...are they REQUIRED to answer?
I know there would be no proof.....but it seems that refusing to answer the people you represent is some sort of dereliction of duty.

8. Well, they can't realistically "take the 5th",
but they don't have to tell the truth, some of them are even denying that such a vote even took place, and there's no way to prove they're lying. :grr:

2. No record exists
It was a voice vote...

Some Republicans have even claimed the vote never took place. And many won't even say how they voted.

Shameless...

Talking Points Memo and the Daily Kos have been trying to get a running tally...

how Mark Foley voted.
