O.K., in the slim chance Kerry actually does win Ohio |
|
Wouldn't being elected President in this way almost force him to appoint some Republican Cabinet members as a show of "unity."
God knows the DLCers will certainly be pressuring him.

1. IF Kerry wins Ohio it'll be a miraculous shit-storm |

Don't get me wrong. Nothing could be worse than 4 more years under Bush, so I'd be thrilled if the impossible were to occur.
But it would be an absolute shit-storm. You saw what they did to Clinton - just imagine what they'd do to a president they found completely illegitimate. They would view him as every bit the thief we view Bush - and they wouldn't be nice about it. They would block virtually all his agenda, tar any moves he made abroad as "out of line with the views of the 51% of Americans who don't favor 'appeasement.'"
It would be absolutely horrible. Still, it'd be better than what we have right now.

There was a lot of discussion about this prior to the election. The possibility I liked best was naming sitting Senators who can at least behave themselves in public, like Hagel or McCain, and try to alter the margins in the Senate. Not to mention the fringe benfits of having Kerry put the wood to someone like McCain. I can almost see it now...
"Come on, John, you can't say no when your President asks you to serve."
"Kiss my ass, you son of a bitch!"
"I think you've got that backwards, John."
