told me the same thing. I voted for him in the primary, and felt sad that the media either belittled him or ignored him. But perhaps, God willing, his time will come in the future.

let me shake your hand. Maybe those who disagree will see how silly this all is. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. It is time to look forward there is too much to do and time is short.

Not this time. Nov 2, you either voted for Bush or Against Bush. I don't think it made a difference if it was Kerry, Kucinich, or Santa Claus. The opponent was irrelevant. The only things that mattered was Bush and how many voters the campaign could dupe and how many votes they could steal.

7. It should have been Kucinch |
|
Kucinch would have made mincemeat of Bush and Rove all through the direct one to one campaign and they would not have got away with anything!!
Can anyone tell me what Kerry did exceptionally well during his campaign which Kucinch (or Dean) would not have done (if not better)?
But no use crying over spilt milk but the Democrats who repeat their mistakes... - well was there no some Bush quote about "fool me once..."?

His health care plan costed WAY TOO MUCH. I mean i like universal health care but i dont want something that costs 6 trillion the first 2 years and 2.2 trillion a year after that. Talk about deficits.

...deficits due to a health care plan than deficits which are a direct result of an immoral war.

11. Any universal health care plan will cost big money |
|
Take what we currently spend on health care in the US. Figure spending at least 75% of that on a universal plan. We might be able to afford Type A and B medicare for everyone in the US with say, an 8% federal value added tax (I just pulled the number out of the air, if anyone has a better figure, please input).

9. In a free, fair, and honest |
|
election, any Democrat would have beat George W. Bush.
When it became clear that Kerry was going to be the nominee, I was in despair, because I knew he was a terrible choice, and I could not for the life of me fathom the "electibility" bullshit that was being put out there. But, in a free, fair, etc election, John Kerry would have won.
I feared all along that we'd have another stolen election, and I'm sorry I was right.
The only possible consolation is that as things worsen over the next four years, it will finally be possible for all the Bush supporters (well, most of them anyway) to come to the realization that W truly is the worst president ever. It's also just as well the Republicans have such a firm majority in both the House and Senate, because the Democrats won't be able to be held responsible for standing in the way of the Bush agenda. Not that they did so in the first four years, but still.
Meanwhile, I do not personally take any comfort in the notion that there are a couple of more Democratic Governors and State Legislatures out there, nor that there's a filibuster-proof minority in the Senate. The worst is yet to come.

12. It was because of the power of the right wing republican media machine |
|
To insult misrepresent and outright lie. With their infomercials running 24/7 on their media, and with so many in the credible media taking their lead from them,I'm disgusted that blame would be placed anywhere else. Kerry would have made the best President of all the candidates. Maybe Edwards would have made a better Presidential nominee. I liked him in the Primaries. One advantage with Edwards would have been having never been in Vietnam,or having never protested the Vietnam war,it could not have been used against him. You may like Kucininch's outspoken opposition to the war in Iraq. I may like that too. But as a candidate for the Presidency he would have been even easier for them to destroy. His backing by the nutty Natural Law Party bothers me. I'm thankful that he didn't go third party. However blaming anything other than the power of the right wing republican media machine for their victory of lies over truth, for their victory of evil over good,is bullshit!

14. nope, he's weak on his feet and easily flustered, the primaries showed it |
|
progressives need a better vehicle than dennis to be a leader of the movement.
i take nothing away from dennis, but he is not capable of articulating a vision as is required now-a-days, regardless of having his heart in the right place.
a lot of times, i do not think he made much sense because for many of the things he espoused he could not realistically show the path on how we would get to where he was pointing to.

Too lampoonable, easily flustered, weak on his feet, hooked up with the nutty Natural Law Party, and shorter than any other candidate. Not married, his advertising for a mate while on the stump was way too funny.

very good on his feet. Perhaps he was just startled that he was finally called on?
You want vision? Read his books.
You want the path? Read his website.
It was all there, very few looked.

I love Kucinich, but let's be realistic. Kucinich was too weird looking to be president. Plus, he didn't support the Afghanistan invasion, which I believe 90 something % of the country did. If they could characterize Kerry as out of the mainstream, imagine what would have happened with Kucinich. Are you actually serious or are you just trying to start a large thread?
