McCain supports steroids legislation for baseball. |
|
And I agree with him. MLB is a joke because they refuse to do anything about the steroids problem. It's become like the WWE over there. Everyone is high and no one can do anything about it.

This is the most important topic of legislation today? MLB isn't the only joke.

5. The problem is that there may not be any other choice. |
|
No one else can do anything about baseball. The two sides don't want to fight this out. Baseball is losing credability because of this. Someone has to do something. I didn't know th eSenate was involved, but I support it.

In fact, on a related topic, I recently started a thread in the Economics forum about taxpayer funding of baseball stadiums.
Sports is indeed something that the government should keep out of.

8. But what about when sports are dangerous to people. |
|
The problem with Baseball is that it damages the trust of American people. It shows that if you cheat just a little, you can get ahead. It's a bad example for the nation and especially children.

But really, Senator McCain, Mr. No-Nonsense Maverick Republican, nowadays aren't there more serious and pressing problems in the country and in the world than...steroid abuse in the major leagues? I don't know, it just seems to me that these guys have a hell of a lot more with which to be concerned.

6. Russert asked him about it. |
|
He didn't bring it up. He talked about something else very important. That was fixing the wreck that is the appropriations system.

I mean, of all the bullshit issues to bring up, this may top even school prayer, the Pledge, In God We Trust and Janet Jackson's tit.
