Is there a "60 Minutes" discussion thread right now? Help! |
|
Just tuned in and there is some powerful discussion on about soldiers returned to the U.S. for reasons of mental health/duress/depression - apparently none of whom are counted in the official U.S. casulty count for the war.

I certainly hope every single Bush voter tuned in to watch that report. 15,000 US casualties of war not reported because they were not wounded in battle?? This madness must end!

2. At first I thought, this non combat casualty story is old news |
|
But it only old news to those of us who get their news online. The general public probably doesn't realize that one does not count if he is paralyzed in Iraq but the injury was not caused by an Iraqi firefight.
Such a sad story.

3. And, apparently, no psychological trauma or injury |
|
even if caused by experiences in battle or firefights, is worth counting in the official casulty tally.
Sadly, I don't think many Bush supporters will wake up to this awful reality until it is their child, close relative or friend who comes home broken and ignored by this administration. And, as much as I want people to open their eyes to what is happening to these soldiers, I can't hope that more young men and women come home in this state just to get the point across...
