1992 Election
Clinton: 42%
Bush: 37%
Perot: 19%

Electorate: 370 (Clinton) - 168 (Bush)

1996 Election
Clinton: 49%
Dole: 41%
Perot: 8%

Electorate: 379(Clinton) - 159(Dole)

In other words, electorally wise, Clinton cleaned their clocks.
Hope that helps... :)

4. Clinton won states that Kerry couldn't even dream of winning
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 06:04 PM by Hippo_Tron
The first time around he won every blue state and every state that was considered a "battleground" this time around, except Florida, in addition to Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennesee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and get this... Montana!

Second time he won every blue state and every state considered a "battleground" this time around except for Colorado in addition to Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennesee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida (won it second time only), and Arizona. Clinton also came surprisingly close in some of the red states... Georgia, Indiana, Virginia, Montana, and South Dakota, I believe, all went to Bob Dole by only about 2 points. In fact, I think that the only places were Dole broke the 50% margin were states like Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Albama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
