My email to Tucker Carlson and Wolf Blitzer
I know this was discussed earlier, but I want to encourage all of you to contact Wolf Blitzer and Tucker Carlson to let them both know how insulting they were to our neighbor, Canada and to our own country on CNN's 5pm news today.

These are the addresses that I used. tucker.carlson@cnn.com

wolf.blitzer@cnn.com

So far they haven't been returned to me so I assume they have reached their destination.

Here are the combined emails.

Mr. Blitzer,
I'm very disappointed in your show this evening in which you had as a guest a lady member of Canada's Parliament and Tucker Carlson. Your show is supposed to be reporting news. It is not "Cross-Fire", is it, where I expect Tucker Carlson to make stupid, embarrassing comments? I have sent the following message to Tucker Carlson. I think both you and he owe an apology to this country and to Canada for being so flippant about serious issues. Your attempt to gloss over Carlson's insulting remarks by saying he often speaks with tongue-in-cheek just didn't work. I hope this doesn't happen again.
________________________________________

Mr. Carlson,
You are indeed a disgrace to this country. I've watched you for several years now and I've never felt compelled to let you know how foolish I really think you are. This evening on Wolf Blitzer's show, you really were an embarassment to this great nation. Your display of ignorance concerning our neighbor, Canada, is unparalleled in the news industry in my opinion. I can't believe I heard your insulting comments to a member of Parliament about our neighboring country that we truly do depend upon contrary to your assessment of our interdependency. You really showed how uninformed you are. Instead of taking the issues seriously, you tried to portray yourself as a comedian, I suppose. It did not work. Wrong show; wrong person to show your ineptness.
Mr. Blitzer tried unsuccessfully to gloss over your blunders by telling us that you often say things "tongue-in-cheek". But you countered with, "I mean them." Since you seem unable to counter the lady's comments with facts, you hide behind snide remarks about dog-sledding as if that defines Canada.
You owe both Canada and this country an apology for your remarks.

Fran
(I did include my last name and town, state)

Gawd .... I can't control myself. I HATE CNN. At least FOX, though awful, is at least honest enough to wear who they are as a badge of honor.

7. Thanx, clydefrand. I'm sending Tucker an email myself, but...
...it won't have the same tone or content as yours.

As a Canadian, I thought their exchange today was absolutely freakin' brilliant. A "soccer grandma"/MP literally took the piss outa' the pathetic little "boy-tie", and it was a priceless comedy experience indeed. (Poor Tucker "you should GO to journalism school" Carlson seems to be having a few bad weeks.)

JON STEWART HAS A FAIRY GODMOTHER, AND SHE MAGICALLY APPEARED ON CNN TODAY.

(your letters are both spot-on. thanx again)

9. I agree with you that he got his butt kicked and he was certainly
outsmarted by Ms Parrish. But I didn't think that the subject matter called for his cute remarks. He's such an asshole anyway and this just got to me!

10. Here is the link to give feedback about particular anchors
or shows. You can click on an anchors name or other, then you will be able to give feedback. Also, when you give feedback, you have the option of checking whether it is NEGATIVE or positive feedback. I have done this before, and I think it is probably a good idea to voice your complaint to the management as well:

13. what do you expect from the two of them...
Tucker is nothing but a moderate looking yippie and Blitzer is nothing but a Brokaw wannabe...both need to stick to writing news so our eyes could have some relief.

14. CNN is scum
You are wasting your time. They are a disgrace. They are given respect and they are nothing but propaganda, and much of the time infantile at that. Scum. At least FOX doesn't try to pretend they are fair and balanced-oh wait they do-but "most trusted name in news"-everyone knows Fox is a joke, but CNN is worse because they masquerade as real news with integrity when they are scum.

I think turning them off is the best remedy.

Signed,

Someone that never will watch CNN again. It needs to die.

15. Well done!
I confess I didn't see the "show", but I read the transcript. Although I don't actually know any, I'm very fond of Canadians, especially after the protests today:) So, I sent an e-mail to complain, using the anchors and reporters feedback link. I hope there will be a ton of complaints and he gets an ass-chewing, but I have to wonder if CNN is aiming for this kind of reaction? I think they're competing with Fox for #1 ugly American channel.

16. My Muther Tucker Letter.
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 09:53 PM by Brundle_Fly
Mr. Mother Tucker.

I was unfortunate enough to catch your appearance on Wolf Blitzer with Mrs. Parrish.
it reminded me that I was also fortunate enough to catch Jon Stewart on your show a few months ago as well.

A few of my obviously desperate, pathetic Canadian thoughts....

Firstly, I as a Canadian, an entrepreneur, a capitalist, a cross border businessman, who flys to deal with many clients in New York City and New Jersey, have many times had the opportunity to move my whole operation south. This would indeed solve many problems we have waiting for invoices & funds that the US holds up upon us for "tax" purposes, and save our corporation overhead in travel and accommodation costs.

I have chosen not to do so. I somehow prefer to live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I imagine you don't believe me, as you were so sure today, that we Canadians can't wait to cross the border to rape the American dream from all your good population.

Well in fact, the truth is, we really don't. Lot's of us anyway. I love my Time in New York. I love my friends in America, I find we have so much in common, and in general we agree and can communicate on levels or issues common to us both. The mitigating factor in my choice to not "move" to America is based purely upon the fact, that there are arrogant ugly Americans such as yourself. Forever staining the public image of your country. Ugly Americans, like you! Thinking you are born into a solid gold diaper, only to remove to utilize your ugly stank against people you disagree with. I guess it's a living, if you can find the job. Good for you!

So who's brilliant idea was it to have you, a political hack, discuss what a member of our parliament did to a toy doll?

What she did, and why she did it, was for a comedy show, Something you made clear that you have no understanding of, when Jon Stewart was on your show. You told him he wasn't asking the meaty, integrity-driven questions you claim to make daily. Unlike the daily brain suck you do, on your daily "heated political debate" show.

Please, try to understand, she was making a joke about her repeated screwing up in matters of International Policy. Much like what the daily show does nightly with members of your government. You took this particular occasion to utilize your ugly American stereotyping, all to energize your lowbrow television base, and all at the expense of another country. Isn't that exactly what you were accusing Mrs. Parrish of doing?

So, stereotype away Mr. Tucker, your parents must be very proud of the fantastic education they wasted their life savings for on for you. Go smoke your ugly cigar with your intellectual contemporaries, Anne Coulter and Bill O'reilly loafing in your upper crust, brass fixture, golden diapered men's club and fried chicken buffet.

Say hi to Bob as you are pushing his wheelchair home for me too.

Thanks
