New DU group proposal: Relive the 2004 Primaries! |
|
<sarcasm>
Yes! Now YOU TOO can relive the most bloody and glorious time in Democratic Underground's 4 year history: The 2004 Primaries!
As you look to the past and not to the future, you can make the same points, post the same articles, and moan about being victimized by the DU admins over and over and over again!
With the admin's approval of this group, you can pretend the Iowa Caucus hasn't happened yet - and that YOUR guy (or gal) still has a fighting chance to sweep the primaries and defeat George W. Bush in the general election!
Hey, why not? General Discussion: Politics and General Discussion have looked like this for the past several days. Let's make it official!

I forgot that it was seventhson that said that. The sad thing is anybody like him ranting can find a few followers here no matter how ludicrous their "theory."

5. It was probably the single funniest thing that |
|
came up during the primaries. One of the people here did some "research" that, through a combination of bizarre leaps of logic and guilt by association, alleged that Clark was responsible for an outbreak of gynecomastia in Haiti. It was funny enough, but the funniest thing of all was that some people here pretended to take it seriously, and congratulated the person who did it for their brilliant research, because they thought it would somehow help their candidate. It was the low point of the whole primary wars, and it gave you insight into the mentality of some of the people who were willing to pick up any smear, no matter how absurd, and run with it just as far as their little mental legs would carry them.

What a shock that was. That guy never did anything but embarrass this place from day one. What gets me isn't him, but the number of people who took him seriously.

I never liked him...
He was always ripping the General and Kerry for being a Skull And Bones guy...
He went as far as to say that Kerry and Bush had a gentleman's agreement that Kerry would lose the race in spite of the contempt the two had for each other...
He sent a bunch of pms to people hoping they would get aids by performing fellatio on aids infected survivors...
He was a sick puppy... To amass thousands of posts at a site you ate just to tell people you fooled them at an opportune time....

Just unbalanced. I knew seventhson from 5 years ago at the Capitol Grilling site and he was exactly the same, obsessed with cabals within cabals inside of cabals. That's an awful long time prepping to deliver a mere gotcha.

Neither of them would have been possible without the complicity of many of our elected officials with "Ds" after their names that voted to enable Bush to rape the Constitution and shred international law.
These issues are going to be with us in 2008!
I think that what you really are against is our holding politicians accountable for their votes and for their actions, or failure to act, on issues that affect all of us.
Now, about DOMA...

22. I have an even better idea... |
|
...why not plunge head on into the 2006 elections without dwelling on introspection and learning from the past? We didn't seem to learn anything from the 2000 fiasco because our leadership insisted that we move on and get over it...which included not talking about it in polite DLC company.

23. Well, we were too busy trying to figure out how to please the Republicans, |
|
and compromise without getting anything in return, and be victims of date rape, and all the rest of that stuff. But now that you've come along to show us the light we're ready to follow. Lead on, O wise one, lead on!
I would like to see all those one-way compromises, though, before I completely sign on with the left wing revolution.
