If the Sixties never happened..... |
What we see happening in our country today, under the Bush regime, is really a continuation from the 1950s. It is as if the 1960s never happended. Actually, these people seem to be on a mission to erase everything that evolved and developed due the changes made in the 1960s and 1970s. They tried under Reagan, but it was too soon. But, now with the Boomer hating genX out there as their vanguard, with the white guy playing the religion card, they are able to take us back to on course. If they succeed, the Stepford family will again become the norm. And, it ain't just rural and suburban white folks, it goes across all lines. You want to tell me that Condi Rice doesn't give off the same aura as June Cleaver. Right, explain to me what's the deal with Gay and Lesbian Republicans. If you haven't guessed it, I finally saw the Stepford Wives last night. Man, oh man, that jolted my eyes wide open.

That will solve the GenX "voting problem"!

2. '00's seem to be anti-60's |
To me it personally feels like the '00's are the anti-60's. Call it the "revenge of the institution".
Is all lost? Of course not. Things will turn around as you can only cover up the problems for so long before the population catches on. Then there will be a long trip in the wilderness for power brokers.
