DREAMS ABOUT KERRY
Still collecting political dreams for a book, especially dreams about the election and Kerry, or Bush. DU dreams are important because DUers have intense interest in Kerry becoming president. Dreams about him probably really refer to him rather than to an aspect of the dreamer. My theory is that most of them will have a precognitive element. All the dreams I have gathered so far point to a Kerry presidency. The only negative Kerry dream did not indicate that he would not ultimately be inaugurated. Please contribute any dreams you have had yourself or have heard from friends or relatives.

1. Umm
a few months before the election, I had a dream he won and was giving a victory speech. I must have jinxed him or something :(

2. I recall one dream
where I had been watching early election results, but then in my dream, I fell asleep...Only to realize sometime later that Bush won in a landslide (I recall around 400+ EVs).

Another dream I had after the election was that the election hadn't taken place yet. I woke up soon after and the numbers 51-48 immediately came to mind. I couldn't get sleep again and it was somewhat depressing knowing that the hope was gone.

3. crap--
I had several dreams about John Kerry over the past couple of months, but I don't remember many details. In two dreams, I was about to marry him. (Eep--what does _that_ say about me? :-) ) The last dream happened right before I woke up on Nov. 4th: very strange imagery--all I can remember was following Kerry and Edwards up this long, narrow trail (could have been a southwest mountain trail; I remember sandy terrain and pueblo buildings). I was one of a long line of people. Something obstacle appeared at the end of the dream--I think the trail ended abruptly at the edge of a sheer cliff--and (this part I remember VERY clearly) as I was waking up, I kept telling myself, just wait till the election! Everything will be all right once the people get to vote!

Or something like that. I guess I do remember some things pretty clearly; it's just that last dream seemed really complex, and I wish I could remember more than a few images...

4. Thank you for taking the trouble to record so many details
I dreamed I was about to marry him too -- but in my case --- since I'm not American and can't vote (or couldn't vote) in your election it was a dream about my personality and my evolving conflicts with power. (The leader of a country represents power -- in his case good -- in the case of Bush BAD!) The fact that I was about to marry a man who represented power in a good sense meant that I was solving a personal conflict I had about power. In you case it may mean you were making a commitment to what he stands for. It also adds to my sense that he will ultimately be preseident in 2005. The more complex dream also gives me hope that he will overcome the obstacles. I wonder if fruad will be the undoing of Bush in a southwestern state. Nevada? What happened there? Are the pueblo in Nevada? I'm a dumb Canadian. This dream tells me that it ain't over till the fat lady sings. I'd love to hear any further dreams you have.

This is not a dream this is an answer for Dreamcollectors Q:

Interesting about the marriages. Votes were torn up in Nev. Sproul's company. Also, know a man who signed petition to legalize marijuana and when they called to find out what happened to the ballot the reply was "20,000 signatures were lost", also a maneuver from Sproul (not sure if that number is right it might be higher-this was in Clark County/Las Vegas-South). A recount was thrown out Tues. by Judge Been in Washoe/Reno-North "the states electoral vote (of 5) will not change the outcome of election". There is desert in S and trees in the N. don't know if that helps any.

10. hmmm....
This is all very interesting stuff. I guessed that the whole marriage thing might have to do with a "wedding" of ideas instead of a literal wedding (although I think in one of the dreams I remember wondering what happened to Teresa...). Also, I'm not sure if the trail/obstacle dream was a premonition or wish fulfillment. At this point, it's looking like wish fulfillment (unfortunately), but you never know. I would say, too, that pueblo-type dwellings could also be referring to New Mexico or Arizona, or even Colorado, where there are many ruins of Anasazi cliff dwellings.

Keep me posted as to how your dream collecting is going. I love hearing about this sort of thing. :-)

6. Dreamt that I walked into a gymnasium...
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 02:58 AM by Niche
and there were young people sprawled out (peaceful but busy) writing on yellow lined paper notebooks. Everything was brown (the floor, the students' clothes) all kinds of people were mingling. It was like we all knew why we came, a sense of purpose. Kerry just appeared and I asked if he remembered me and that I cared about him very much (i looked closely at his face, thinking he was warm). He told me he was doing a tour around the country (or the world?) and I said he had a lot of "groupies". Then it changed, bright white sunlight, outside, at a college now and everything was bright blue and white, staircases, students with light blue clothes and white note books, happy but busy. And then somewhere a gun went off and people started to run, not screaming though more controlled and I tried to find Kerry (saw a light pink shirt tail pass by) but he wasn't with us anymore. I was happy he got away for a moment and then I got shot in the eye - a bright white light in my right eye. I wasn't scared that I got shot I felt relieved, it was all white light then. Then I woke up... This was last week.

7. I had the MOST wonderful dream about him in early Autumn
I was involved in the campaign and things were just awesome. We were in a polling place and I can't remember all the details but people were running around like crazy. He was real calm and talked to me quite a bit about all the cities we would visit.

He asked me to come meet Theresa on the plane. While I waited to do so, an SS dude said "Mr. Kerry wants you to have this." He handed me a phone and said "He will call you when he needs help so leave it turned on at all times."

I met Theresa ( who had two tiny babes and was a bit flustered caring for them but still nice to me).

I felt SOOOOO good after that dream, woke up smiling and "in love" with Kerry as a candidate, which I wasn't prior to that dream. It just gave me a good feeling, aside from that cool feeling of "knowing" someone important and actually being asked to make a difference.

I thought for sure he would win after that dream. Again, i can't begin to express the relief and joy I felt for days afterwards.
My kids just laughed at me!

9. In my dream he was on stage at a competition for magicians
it was the final event, kind of like the Olympics for magicians - and the trick was levitation - each contestant - there were about 6 -who had to levitate themselves while lying on their back, with a sheet over them - you've seen that in magician shows.

The levitation event was not known as Kerry's strongest. I was backstage, rooting for him, fretting and worrying because as all the contestants started floating up from the floor, there was Sen. Kerry, sticking way out from his sheet so that everyone could see his head and feet--- he was so tall he stuck out, but he was levitating with the best of them, kind of shaking, but smiling and floating.

My dream did not end with anyone winning, just this really vivid memory of Kerry floating in the air on his back with a sheet over his middle, trying his darnedest to float in the air, even as it became clear he was too tall to do it without shaking.

This was a few weeks before the election.
