Has Bush done anything "good" since he has been in office?
Off the top of my head I can think of two things he did that I admired

The funding for AIDS prevention in Africa

Getting the G-8 to restructure or forgive quite a bit of 3rd world debt.

I would add the "no child left behind" program ....but it didn't get full funding...though in truth no program ever gets full funding.

The reason I post this....

I see so many people on here who are so filled with hate for the right.

I don't hate Bush... I don't agree with his positions most of the time....but I don't hate him.

The sad result of the politics of the last 20 years is that some many on each side really despise the other side... its sad really....

Do not flame me as a freeper.... I am not.

5. Not true about the aids money
the US has actually provided over 1 billion so far through world bank projects http://www.worldbank.org/afr/aids/map.htm

There are other programs as well...though I havent gone and found the funding levels.

13. The Bush pattern is dismal
Underfunds when forced to do something good. Attaches horrid strings. Takes credit for completely doing the right thing. That hasn't changed since he was governor and now you will be lucky even to get empty promises if he is too bored to bother. For every penny that gets leaked to a good cause a hundred bucks goes to corporate welfare for his family and pals.

ALL of those "positive" things any fool could have done better if sincere and willing to back up the pose.

What he really accomplished was to show how bad our political system is, crudely exposing all the fraud, scandals and myths with no consequences or meaningful public awareness. The stupefaction of America is nearly complete. Even the most "ardent critics" like us weirdos, are constantly bent away from ever coming to grips with all the pressing evils or any successful actions.

Exposes and drags down the sad and sorry state of the worst and most mediocre generation of leadership this nation has known and most other nations and religions as well. And there are NO excuses to allow these decrepit and foolish evils to rule over a crumbling future.

The Judgment of Clod.

20. Over the top? You mean like calling the Teacher's Union "terrorists"?
You mean like calling Canada "haven for terrorists"?

You mean like calling Saddam Hussein "worse than Hitler"?

You mean like lying this country into INVADING a sovereign nation that hadn't done a damn thing to anyone & wasn't a threat to its own neighbors, let alone us?

Your idea of what's "over the top" seems more like "bush-apologist" to me.

22. You are in the WRONG place, my friend...
If you cannot see Bush as the personification of EVIL...

He is the naked face of hatred, racism, elitism AND facism.

If you can't see this, you have not been paying attention!

24. Here are some photos that, to me, define "over the top"
and it's all done with YOUR tax dollars, in YOUR name. This is how the world views our country:
http://fallujapictures.blogspot.com/
(WARNING: GRAPHIC PHOTOS OF YOUR TAX DOLLARS/AMERICAN VALUES AT WORK)

OVER.
THE.
TOP.

And I'm not allowed to have even a weensy bit of hatred for this man and his values/America's values? My disdain for this man and his values/America's values is over the top?

Beam me up. I don't belong here.

and if they got any at all... it was conditioned that if they gave condoms, no money.

As for forgiving 3rd world debts, I haven't done the research... but any forgiveness of debts to any specific country is done for geopolitical payoffs... if I know my bushboy!

In answer to your question... NO, bush has not done ONE decent thing... and he is not about to start now. Amazing, not ONE thing... even unintended!

Oh, I guess he activated the grassroots AGAINST him.

And I suppose it IS good for russia and china to be on their way to being the top dogs militarily and economically. Good for them; bad for us.

AS for no child left behind? I recommend maybe looking into the issue before saying it's a good idea, because the facts suggest otherwise. funding or not.

14. ..I have read of only one good thing
done by Bush since his first day in office. I read that he wrote a check for 50 million dollars to fight child sex trafficking. That is an undeniably "good" thing, but he's done so many other BAD things that, it barely makes a dent, IMO...Whether or not the group(s)ever GOT the money, BTW, I don't know.

..As to the "anger"...have you checked out the anger from the Right?! - not to mention the ignorance that so often accompanies it...I live in Chicago's suburbs and just got done reading another rabid letter about "liberals" from a fellow suburbanite and I find it unreal....This man actually characterized the abuse at Abu Ghraib as "a woman sitting on a man's lap"...(Whhaaaaaat??)..He criticized "liberals" for calling those abuses "human rights violations" in the face of their supposed support for partial birth abortion.

No, sorry, you must look at evil and call it by name. The man is a sick, messianic despot. He is destroying this country. And please don't tell me that the other side thought that same of Clinton. They did but they were wrong. Sometimes there really is a right or wrong and frankly your moralizing is a bore.

Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 09:02 AM by patsified
"I like the 'Do Not Call' list." But lately I've gotten so many phone calls from Millward Brown and other telemarketers and solicitors who are not supposed to call me... so my final answer: NO, he hasn't done anything good since he's been in office -- or before he stole the office, for that matter. I'm from Texas, his damage path has been going on for a decade, not just 4 years. And if you ask people who've been involved with him in business, the damage path began long before he became governor. What an amazingly harmful sack of shit he is! Everything he touches turns to shit dust. It even goes back even to his childhood -- ask the frogs he used to torture. Nothing leaves his grasp in an improved condition, does it?

EDITED TO ADD: my dear, even Hitler was kind to dogs. It doesn't offset the damage he did, does it?

28. Defend?
Maybe you should read my post again.... I pointed out that there were two things he proposed that I liked... thats hardly defending him.

I also said I disagreed with him on most issues....

My point is... this venom you feel toward the right is counterproductive... it doesn't help.

I suppose you and I are different.... the lesson wasn't "turn the other cheek for a little while then become filled with hate"

31. nope. Nothing good has ever come from this administration
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 09:55 AM by Lerkfish
he wants to abolish the checks and balances carefully crafted into our governance so that he can function as a dictator. He used fraud and intimidation to steal two elections. He started an illegal unprovoked war on falsehoods which has caused the deaths of a quarter of a million innocent civilians, the deaths of over a thousand US servicemen and the nearly complete destruction of Iraq's infrastructure, while handing out billions to his corporate buddies. He invokes the name of God to further hatred and intolerance, cloaks himself in the tattered rags of false piety to influence mindless christian fundies to fleece them of votes and money, refuses to listen to anyone who doesn't fellate him daily, and who employs Karl Rove, a Goebbels disciple to run his campaign, which consisted almost completely of dirty underhanded dispicable tactics, smears and sabotages.
Our economy is heading for an apocaplytic meltdown which our great grandchildren will still be struggling with, and he's outsourcing american jobs to slave labor camps in China.
He has designs to "reshape" the entire Middle East in his hegemonic wet dreams and pretends this fights the war on terror when it actually is the best recruitment program for terrorists ever devised.

I see absolutely no reason whatsoever to NOT hate the scum.

and he is the antichrist. If he's not, he'll do until the real one comes along.
