Bush Says Should Be No Foreign Influence in Ukraine

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) said on Thursday that any new election in Ukraine should be "open and fair" and free of foreign influence.

"The position of our government is that the will of the people must be known and heard," Bush told reporters as he met Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

"Supporters of opposition presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko wearing orange campaign ribbons cheer outside the government building in Kiev, December 1, 2004. President Bush (news - web sites) called on Nov. 30 for a peaceful resolution to Ukraine's election crisis soon that will reflect the will of the Ukrainian people. (Stringer/Russia/Reuters)"

1. Yup, bush is master of the soundbite.
And you can bet they're grooming other 'masters' for 2008.

I pity the Democratic fool who goes up against them. We're so used to quick quotes that only have to sound good (the title of this thread being the latest case in point), that's all that'll matter.

2. Notice he said "known" before he said "heard"
It is like a variant of "If I want your opinion, I'll give it to you!"

4. Puppet echos?
How many times is he going to say, "will of the people"?

He has this delusion that he is the embodiment of our will here. Now where did he get that strange notion?

I don't care what men he dates, he does not have a mandate with us! That's a fact. He clearly represents the will of the corporations and the Radical Right-wing Religious Republicans. That's "THE PEOPLE"? Dream on George.
