IMPORTANT! FLOOD CNN WITH BOYCOTT!
Someone at CNN thought it would be a fine idea to have Jerry Falwell HOST Crossfire in Bob Novak's place.

This is a new low point in CNN history. Voice your displeasure by going to this link. Tell them you will never watch CNN again:

6. I concur, it's not "Hard News" Wolfie, it's Info-tainment. YUCK!
I haven't broken the habit of tuning in for five minutes to headline news once in a while at the top of the hour. It's disgusting that the whores are going to now bring in the "Blake-Begley Murder Case" to obsess on as a ruse to NOT pay attention the increasing numbers of our troops are being killed in Iraq.

Shameful "Executive Branch" Whores = CNN etc. (all USA MSM)

Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 05:00 AM by SideshowScott
Once agian they try to outfox fox by trying to see can dig up the uglyest neo con the can find and try to make him look like a " Voice " in the american news..
They just dont get it..
Like many i have not watched ONE MINUTE of cable network news since Nov 2nd and I feel much better and thing i did the right thing by doing so..This just confirms it..If there is anything i can do in life it would be to get EVERY SINGLE KERRY VOTER to shut off Fox, CNN, MSNBC and the rest and they are a joke of anything that resembles a free press. Just a bunch a talking head half-wits serving corprate america with propaganda trying to pass it off as news..
Fawell is no man of God OR Jesus, just a war mongering, hatefull, greedy, fear monger..Not the kind of thing Jesus would appove of if you as me..And CNN id giving him the spotlight..Nice..Well you count on me NOT watching it

Serves CNN right. How the effing stupid do you have to be to let someone on your show, and then have that person say "CNN doesn't always get it right, but FAUX!" ROTLLMAO

It's one thing if it's a guest promoting Faux, but to have the host do it??? That's like Pepsi doing a commercial and telling you to buy Coke.

Doesn't CNN have investors? Don't they have rules about doing things that bring harm to investors? How long do you think people with Target stock would sit quietly while Target advertised Wal-Mart?

10. I think the investors are mostly Saudis. Like Moon, they don't mind
if this particular investment (US) goes to the dogs. Every self-destructive CNN decision seems to prove that pattern.

13. Having Falwell as right-wing host can only help us
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 09:58 AM by zulchzulu
He overreaches all the time. He's an embarrassment to moderate Repugs.

Falwell should represent the Repug Party...it will scare the beJesus out of most people and he is certainly easy to destroy on-air with just about anyone on the "other side".

Falwell is a bloated, ugly, hateful, misinformed, homophobic theocrat. Perfect!!

Except for a occasional Larry King show where I want to see a particular guest CNN is very very rarely on in my home. Last look at their ratings leads me to believe others also hold this same opinion.

16. Same here...
I occasionally tune in to Larry King and previously tuned in to Lou Dobbs in his debates over "outsourcing america" and "illegal aliens".

But, since they started promoting the likes of Falwell, we rarely tune in for anything at all on CNN anymore. I used to think they were more "moderate" than FOX (mostly due to Lou Dobbs programs above & occasional Larry King), but NOT ANYMORE! THEY ARE WORSE THAN FOX! Why? There has to be some reason behind them promoting the extreme religious right cults.

17. I see you're fairly new here
A quick answer to your question is...not only is CNN driving this rightwing propaganda but so is every other "corporate news outlet" on tv. This administration has loosened and has promised to further loosen regulations so they can expand.

It goes something like this, the CEO's lay down the law to station general managers on what content to report on, how to report on that content and what people to bring on to discuss that topic. That general manager then pushes this agenda/message to show producers and they in turn pass it along to the well known talking heads we so hate. Although, in many cases these talking heads adhere to the same message and are cut from the same cloth as every other one of these corrupt corporate whores.

You can start searching out info dealing with the Media Act to understand what Kerry had planned to do and what people like Pelosi are still trying to push to have this corrupt system fixed.

Welcome to DU:toast:

running smooth ads for cars and laundry soap it won't hold on to it's integrity for long. You realize the only place to get national noncommercial influenced information now is on the net?Anyone have shortwave? Can it be blocked?

27. Thanks!
Thanks for the taking the time to give me some history. I'll do some searchs on the Media Act and Pelosi. This situation is overwhelming.

Yes, I am new to DU and know already that this is the most informative location to get the real news and communicate.

It appears that the new WMD is to be a great documentary too blasting our U.S. media coverage (rather "media fake coverage"). It started showing in my area today, but have not seen it yet. MSNBC tonight on 'crossfire' had a panel of 4. 3 were trying to make excuses for the media only supporting the "establishment" (in the case now, the Iraq war and Bush regime). 1 disagreed (Amy (last name I didn't catch) who has written a book recently apparently on this subject).

It's terrible when you have to go to overseas media sources to learn the truth about what is going on in the U.S. because you can't get it home.

15. Personally, I think there is some big connection CNN & Falwell...
Is it money perhaps? Is the CNN decision maker a Falwell lunatic too?
Reason being... CNN aired the "Fight Over Faith" repetively for weeks.
They have given Falwell a lot of "free (?)" air time with interviews, etc. CNN has become worse than Fox. Are they merging or do they have same investors? I cannot imagine any investors (unless they all are Falwell robots) putting up with the full degradation of CNN news.

Something stinks here, but don't know what the Falwell & CNN connection might be. There's been WAY TOO MUCH FALWELL on CNN period! There's some reason or connectivity no doubt (IMHO).

Easiest thing to do is as others have posted .... BLOCK 'EM out if you don't like it. Flood them with emails of complaint. But, don't expect anything to change, as I have a gut feeling there is likley some strong connection based upon CNN's performance in promoting the Falwell cult.

since Wednesday, November 3.

I don't even care enough to email them.

We turned off our satellite service.

On edit, if even half of all the Kerry voters out there did what we have done, they'd feel it. You bet your ass they'd feel it. They wouldn't even need emails to know what happened.

It's their worst nightmare--to simply be turned OFF.

19. Here is the email I just sent
use anything from it that you want.

I have been becoming more and more unhappy with your network and its coverage of what you consider to be news recently. Your emphasis has increasingly moved toward scandal and your tone has become more speculative rather than sticking to actual reporting. Objective reporting should mean that the facts are presented without editorial comment. Presenting both "sides" , when one side consistently lies is NOT reporting.

I felt that your continued employment of Robert Novak has been disgraceful but to replace him with the radical cleric Jerry Falwell puts you beyond the pale.

I will no longer be watching any of your networks and will tell everyone I know that you have succumbed to the talibornagain faction that have gained so much control of what used to be the US.

Falwell, however shouldn't be the reason to boycott CNN.

The consolidation of all media and the shilling by the media for corporate/Neocon interest should be our reason to protest them. It's time to take back the media...before there's nothing left for us to take back.
