Many of those marines fighting in Fallujah only arrived in Iraq 2 months ago, and already 632 have been wounded.

I mean COME ON!

NO WAYcan anyone be injured badly enough to deserve a REAL Purple Heart when they've only been in-country for a few weeks! And we all know Iraq ain't no VIETNAM!

It only takes a split second to lose a limb or receive a head injury. I have first hand knowledge of many horrific injuries during the month of November right up to the present. I do not have an exact number, but I am constantly shocked by the frequency in a War we are "winning".

I realize that some people take advantage of the situation by giving awards that are not earned, but in all fairness that happens in every walk of life and every business. It has occurred in the military for years and will continue to occur in the future. We must not let these actions cheapen the rewards received by those who honestly deserve them.
