Even Jacques Chirac knows he has to Bush-bash to win election
What was Kerry thinking?

From a story at CNN:

On his recent visit to London, Chirac pressed for "multipolarity": a return to international rivalries that produced the carnage of the 20th century. He also suggested there was no point trying to repair his country's difficulties with Washington and taunted British Prime Minister Tony Blair because "our American friends" do not "pay back favors."

Mocking Donald Rumsfeld's designation of France as "Old Europe," he pretended not to remember the secretary of defense's name and referred to him, sarcastically, as "that nice guy of America."

State Department officials thought Chirac would reach out to Washington once Bush was re-elected, and U.S. diplomats here say he has misread French opinion.

the contrary, playing the anti-American card is seen in political circles here as Chirac's strongest position as he prepares to run for a third five-year term in 2007. He is unpopular, detested by the Left and considered an apostate on the Right, but may survive by bashing Uncle Sam.

1. Kerry needed to convince people he was tough on terrorism
people didn't care if bush fucked up when they were fearful. since they only cared about who was more hawkish when they were feeling fearful.

and most of the french people hate bush unlike in america.

3. Terrorism Smerrorism...It was the Christians, stupid!
Kerry could have personally wrestled Osama bin Laden to the ground and twisted his neck for an instant death on live TV and it would not have made one god damned bit of difference.

The only way Kerry could have won is if he had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, and modified his platform to a more aggressive Theocratic agenda than Bush.

He needed to promise to make sure Roe v Wade was overturned, the gay marriage ban was passed, "under God" stayed in the Pledge, and in all ways make the United States a "Christian Nation". He might have stood a chance if he'd done those things.

2. regarding multi-polarity
I am all for it....as long as France isnt one of the poles... This isnt French bashing... I have done considerable work oversea and see their business practices up close. If you think US business practices are corrupt... you should see the way the French operate.

My guess is within a decade China will emerge as the counterbalance to the US.
