Walmart supports abortion -- get the word out to all your "pro-life"
acquaintances

Since WalMart is the biggest player in using Chinese companies (or forcing American companies to move manufacturing to China) for goods and contributing to our huge trade deficit

and China is the only country that FORCES married women to abort healthy and desired children

ipso facto--- WalMart supports FORCED ABORTION!!

1. You know...this is really a brilliant tact to take.
Yes, yes, yes. For all those "Morally sensitive" voters out there, this should be abhorrent to them. Each time they buy a consumer product with "Made in China" on it they are supporting a morally corrupt nation, AND going against their beliefs/principals.

These are the same people who at the least amount of profanity on television start a campaign to boycott the advertisers. So shouldn't the same hold true for Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and any other store whose majority of their inventory comes from China, that abortion mandating, godless nation?

I thought to myself, "wouldn't this make a great billboard??

But then I remembered, we would have to explain it to them in great detail and I don't think Clear Channel makes a billboard that big.

3. You're right!
I read this astonishing fact a few days ago on another thread. It threw me back...the implications were pretty stark.

Of course, I've known about China and its population practices. I just didn't connect the two: China = Wal Mart = Repubs = Conflict of Ideology.

doesn't China have preferred nation status? Aren't we warming relations with them? Frankly, they have a horrific human rights record. Granted, its economically expedient to kiss their ass. It really is, but if you're going to do that, don't pretend to be morally superior in every way.

10. If you believe it's all about money
then please explain why we stopped the boycott on Cuba and granted them MFN status at the same time, since China, another "Communist" country, has such a far worse record of human rights abuses?

...oh, wait... we didn't.

Edited on Sat Dec-04-04 06:31 PM by Blue Gardener
I think there are a lot of people in the fundie community that don't like WalMart because the Chinese government is hostile to religion, and they don't treat Christians very well. If we could find particular instances of this happening, and spread the information around, it would not be good for WalMart.

Chinese Christians Sentenced to Death

Persecution against Christians in China has been on the rise since late last year. One of the recent targets of persecution has been the South China Church, and its founder, Pastor Gong Shengliang. It is believed that Pastor Gong was arrested in Hubei province in August of 2001. However, the case against Pastor Gong came to light only in late December when he was sentenced to death for complicity in rape and leading an evil cult. The date of execution was set for January 5, 2002, but by the grace of God, it was later suspended for a few months so Pastor Gong could appeal his case. Many other adherents of the 50,000 member strong South China Church have also been detained and several, like Pastor Gong, have been sentenced to death for their participation in an "evil cult."

Though not all sources agree on the sentences given to the Chinese Christians, to the best of ICC's knowledge the following people were charged, in addition to Pastor Gong, during a secret trial in Hubei province during December: Hu Yong and Xu Fuming (death), Li Ying and Gong Bangkun (death, suspended for 2 years), Sun Minghua (life imprisonment), Yi Chan-fu (20 years) and Xiao Yanli (18 years). Over 50 other people are said to be detained in addition to those formerly charged.

Chinese region 'must conduct 20,000 abortions'

A CHINESE county has been ordered to conduct 20,000 abortions and sterilisations before the end of the year after communist family planning chiefs found that the official one-child policy was being routinely flouted.

The impoverished mountainous region of Huaiji has been set the draconian target by provincial authorities in Guangdong (formerly known as Canton).

Although the one-child policy is no longer strictly enforced in many rural areas, officials in Guangdong issued the edict after census officials revealed that the average family in Huaiji has five or more children.

Many of the terminations will have to be conducted forcibly on peasant women to meet the quota. As part of the campaign, county officials are buying expensive ultrasound equipment that can be carried to remote villages by car.

By detecting which women are pregnant, the machines will allow Government doctors to order terminations on the spot.

36. The argument from the right though would be
The only way to change them is to get closer to them and get our values to them, so we need to go to wal-mart more so that they can grow and have a better chance of fighting their evil government and becoming free - which would help them to end abortion.

37. Where is Bigpath? We need a good flyer.
Post it everywhere. I've been taking the Brand Democrat signs and putting them up whenever I go out. I also pass on used magazines to my Mom's hair stylist. Guess what's taped in the magazines?

Do the same with a Walmart flyer. And, it wouldn't hurt to find the email addresses of churches who supported * and send them a nice, factual email about China, Walmart and abortion.

Keep flyers with you and every time you see a parked car with a * sticker or pro-life sticker, you know what to do. :)
