Can someone explain how Kerry wins if Repug electors are sent?
Because of the way Ken Blackwell has conducted himself it is almost a foregone conclusion at this point that Republican electors will be sent to congress. If the recount uncovers the massive fraud that most believe occured in Ohio on November 2nd then, I believe, it would be up to the House of Representatives, by state, to determine whether or not to recognize the GOP electors or, presumably, a Democratic set of electors that would be sent based on the recount.

And we all know which set of electors the Repugs would choose.

Does anyone know if the Ohio election law addresses this? Can the Republican electors be recalled and new ones sent? Because if they can't I just don't see how we win. We know the GOP has no shame and would have no problem ignoring the real results if they have the chance.

1. If Kerry wins Ohio on recount and the Republicans decide to
still accept the Republican state electors....well, that will start the whole ball rolling....

2. ...rolling where?
Can you be more specific? bush is sealing up the exits like Jim Carrey in the "Mask". What leverage will be left if repugs have already taken it all? It's like a criminal running his own trial!
Please address if you know more than I do.

3. Well, if the Republicans want to change the rules after the results
confirm Kerry wins....I guess that means the whole game is over. Rules don't count anymore. I won't speculate where it leads to, but Thomas Jefferson had some good ideas about governments that don't respect the rules of democracy.

4. That's a huge hypothetical.
Ohio is one of sixteen states that requires its electors to cast their ballot with the winner of the popular vote. State law, no less. So if the the "official" results were to be overturned then the electors would be required to vote for Kerry. The fly in the ointment is that no penalty exists for casting an elector's ballot for someone else. So a Republican elector can do whatever they want. The worst that can happen is that they are not invited back as an elector in future elections.

5. Absolutely unreal. Well, they're been stealing in the open for 4 years
nothing will stop them from stealing all future elections either. I predict '08 will be even dirtier if that's possible. So much for our constitutional protections. Goodbye democracy, hello dictatorship (forgive me, series of dictators with a new one every 4 years) Maybe that pile of junk Arnold will be next to make sure our rights are kept from us. Yeah, I know, he's a foreigner. That won't stop them.
