General: New Apparent Abuse Photos Show Acts of Isolated Few

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,140520,00.html

CAIRO, Egypt — A former military spokesman in Iraq said Saturday new pictures showing apparent abuse of Iraqi prisoners were the acts of an isolated few but will be used by some to try to tarnish the entire U.S. military.

Gen. Mark Kimmitt (search), now based in Qatar, spoke on the pan-Arab television network a day after the U.S. military launched a criminal investigation into photographs that appear to show Navy SEALs in Iraq sitting on hooded and handcuffed detainees.

Other photos show what appear to be bloodied prisoners, one with a gun to his head.

The photos, found by an Associated Press reporter, were among hundreds in an album posted on a commercial photo-sharing Web site by a woman who said her husband brought them from Iraq after his tour of duty.

3. Saddam Wasn't Worth It...
and Bin Laden is still running AND hiding. What are we getting for all of this damage to our reputation and the fodder we're giving to the Jihadi recruiting efforts?

It's amazing the types of things the government will be allowed to do while the population lives in fear. Here's a graphic I turned out during the Abu Ghraib disaster. Ignore the "Vote Bush Out!", I thought at the time that we would. Sadly, I was mistaken.

4. I think "alleged" or "apparent" is a CYA gesture
Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Guys haven't been court-martialed, thus no proven guilt yet.

Even though it's pretty obvious, I think they kinda have to. I can fault Fox for a lot of things; I'll give them a pass on this one.

9. who would let such a thing tarnish the wander-lust that glows over
the American occupation--we are not longer shocked--just in awe--as we are told to be...but the Rovians and the FOXes of the world.

5. Don't judge us by our actions!
"Asked by al-Jazeera if such pictures are a problem, Kimmitt said they are certainly a "tool" and some will try to use them to show the U.S. military in a negative light."

Kind of like how some used evidence of Jeffrey Dahmer's crimes as a "tool" to try to show him "in a negative light."

7. I have always said bin Larden won.
Bush let him and helped. Bush was so worried about getting into office that these guys never thought a thing out. Now look at the mess we are in. Every thing was for Bush and 2004. We will pay for years for this President.http://smilies.sofrayt.comBig Time/1/a0/bgrasshole.gif

8. its a shame nobody cares about this
or worse, a lot of Americans approve of it as much as the soldiers in the photos apparently did.

Shame we didn't invade Sweden, I think there'd be more outrage if we were torturing blonde-haired, blue-eyed white people.
