4. It questions the legitimacy of his holding the office.
Resident/pResident. He's the resident of the White House, but it's a way of subtly failing to acknowledge his legitimacy to hold that office. It was especially applicable after 2000, when he wasn't 'elected' -- there are other phrases and words that do the same thing, like the asterisk (Bush*), referring to him as 'president footnote' (both the asterisk and footnote refer to the fact that he wasn't actually elected in 2000, but appointed by the SC). Some also refer to the 2000 election as the sElection -- same deal.

6. one thing I know...
is if you use it that way...pResident...it pissess off the conservatives...they say it shows disrespect to the office of President...what they don't understand is that it has nothing to do with the office of President...but the doofus that's squatting in it...!
