Do they know?
Does the upper echelon of the DNC know how badly we crave some strong, outspoken leaders right now?

Do they know how strongly we would rally around someone (or someones) like that?

We're practically chomping at the bit for someone like that--someone who doesn't back down to the presstitutes, someone who really calls it like they see it, someone who can argue our positions with passion and clarity.

Someone with big giant brass......(insert female or male body part).

And I don't mean someone who just says something really great every now and then, then back to business as usual. I mean someone who PIT BULLS most of the time.

They've got about 5,000 of them on the right. (Except the arguing with clarity part, but they don't seem to feel the need for clarity.)

Where, oh where, are ours?

1. They know.
It scares the shit out of them.
The last thing they want is a strong, charismatic political
leader with his/her own national following.
The first thing that happens in that case is they get thrown out.

3. WHY???
Why why why why why why why do they do that?

Please explain in small words, like I know nothing on this subject. I find it so baffling.

Is it the corporate angle? WHAT? Populism is what I want, it's what most of us want.

When are we going to get it? Is it dead?

Power and money?
What's not to get? The DNC and RNC are not enshrined in the
constitution. Their power and position are precarious, it is only
by colluding to keep us out here in TV land buffaloed that they
manage to maintain themselves in power. If we ever take control
of our own government, they are toast.

I need to do some research on her, it seems.

On edit, just found her website and I do know who she is. Why do you say she is antisemitic?

12. Great contribution.
I never said they had to get everyone to agree or something. Just someone to stand up and speak out. I detect a bit of a vaccuum and I find it frustrating...

10. Found this:
but no evidence of anti-semitism, only evidence she was railroaded in 2002:

13. I get the impression
The party needs new blood. Both parties are being run by old money and old power. The DNC apparently has no clue what middle class America will respond to, but they are afraid to let an unknown in and even more afraid to let an unknown shine. I also think there are few up there in Washington right now that realize our system is in complete disarray and they have no idea how to put it back together. Do you think they will really listen to someone that has no corporate interests, no political capital, and no real dirty laundry? Power and politics go hand in hand. I think some of them start out with the best of intentions, but they all end up with skeletons in the closet. Poitics corrupts. Is anyone impervious to it?

Major Speech Wednesday

Democracy for America Executive Director, Tom McMahon, sent this email to DFA supporters this morning.

Governor Dean will lay out a vision for the future of the Democratic Party this Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern in Washington, D.C.

He will outline not just a direction for our party, but a concrete destination: a party built from the ground up.

That means a party powered by millions of small donors, not millionaires. It means a party that speaks plainly and commits to concrete outcomes that affect real people. And it means a party that
competes in every single race, for every single vote, in all fifty states.

You can watch live video of the speech on Wednesday morning at the Democracy for America web site:

www.democracyforamerica.com

Be sure to join us for the live webcast on Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern. Thank you.

Tom McMahon
Executive Director
Democracy for America

P.S. -- Since I last wrote to you, about the need to protect every vote in the Washington Governor's race, over 15,000 small donations poured in to put the Washington Democratic Party over the top -- they raised enough money to pay for a full hand count and ensure that every vote counts.

Democratic candidate Christine Gregoire's campaign manager wrote a personal thank-you to the Democracy for America community. Read his letter and all the latest news at the blog: www.blogforamerica.com
