Remember when Warren Beatty's name was tossed about |
|
as a Presidential Candidate? I wonder if we could use someone of star quality (with decent political credentials) like Beatty or Robert Redford to get the White House back? Maybe they would have to run for Governor of Cali first? http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2004-12-05-kennedy-center-inside_x.htm

We need to seperate ourselves from the Hollywood crowd. We are too closely associated with them as it is. The Hollywood crowd is tremendously unpopular outside California.

3. Depends. The Terminator is a notable exception to that rule. |

Who knows? Redford might be as well.

12. Arnold won in what state? |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 03:58 PM by Zynx
I happen to recall saying "OUTSIDE CALIFORNIA". He would not win a national election and he was a Republican anyway so that helps mitigate that problem.

14. Arnold is tremendously popular OUTSIDE OF CALI |
|
that is why he campaigned in Ohio, and if he would have agreed to, I'm sure other places as well.
Redford would be a similar draw, no doubt.

Arnold is despised here in Wisconsin. Everyone I talk to, and I talk to a lot of Republicans, makes fun of California for electing Arnold.

4. I like Warren Beatty, and I hate this distancing from "Hollywood liberals" |
|
They have a right to speak out, and the problem is not their speaking out, the problem is we've let the Rethuglicans turn them into a joke, when the thugs like their Hollywood Conservatives just fine.
I just wish the Hollywood liberals with cash would support lefty websites, like this one, and the Center for Cooperative Research, which will be closing due to lack of money.

5. Nah, it seems like most of America hates Hollywood |
|
when it involves itself in politics. There was a big backlash this year.
Except the governator, of course, for some godforsaken dumbass reason.

8. They love Hollywood conservatives, though |
|
If you're a Democrat in Hollywood, you're a radical, decadent French Loving commie.
If you're a Republican, you're still a good person in the midst of all the decadence.

9. Like Schwarzenegger, Beatty and Redford have mega-star |
|
quality and likeability that will cross party lines, especially with women.
Redford, in particular, would do well across America if he had a foundation as Governor first.

7. I remember back in the 80s - Paul Newman |
|
When Paul Newman's name was tossed about as a potential Senate candidate here in CT. That was to run against liberal (yes, liberal!) Republican Lowell Weicker.

but, I have been saying for several years that Redford would probably do better than anyone the Dems were nominating. Redford vs. Aaaannoolldd 2008!
Let's just sell our souls right to the entertainment industry. Hell, they know how to act on TV!

He can't articulate very well plus conservatives will have a field day with his past and his "limousine liberalism."

17. How about Moragn Freeman or |
|
Denzel Washington? I am not sure if Denzel is even a Dem or political. Morgan Freeman has at least played a President (I forget the name of the movie though).
