Kenneth Blackwell's Future
Do DUer think Kenneth Blackwell should step down due to his actions as the Secretary of State in Ohio? Is the Democratic Party pushing for him to step down?

I think he should step down. The fact that he increased the number of voting machines in Republican precints and either decreased the number or allowed the number to remain the same in Democratic precints reason enough for him to step down. So as anyone called for Blackwell to step?

1. He'll probably be elected to congress in Ohio
Or he'll be given some cushy job within the Bush administration. Isn't that the way these things usually go?

27. blame the board of elections.
the bi-partisan (2 dems and 2 reps) county board of elections decides where the machines go. the sos doesn't. We need to start pointing fingers at the right people, the democrats on the county boards who didn't make sure that there were enough machines in heavily democratic precincts.

He gave a speech where he compared gays and lesbians to barnyard animals. That's some impartiality there!

then be given a cushy job in the third * administration.

Sorry to be so dour. This is the path of all good state secretaries of state. (lapdogs)

Seriously, we must work to change the rules which allow campaign operatives to be the judges of the fairness of elections. First Harris, and then Blackwell.

It is truly like having the umpire wear the same uniform as one of the teams.

10. I wish he was elected to the congress of cellblock "C"...
The fact that government officials in charge of the runnings of elections are allowed to work for a campaign is an unbelievable conflict of interest. I cannot believe that this is not seen as wrong, wrong, wrong!!

What is wrong with the majority of people in this country that they allow this to happen? Are their heads so far up their own *sses that they cannot see? Or do they simply not care?

You can bet if it was one of Kerry's people running the election in Ohio and these problems were to occur they would be dealt with ASAP!!!

24. Yes they do. Blackwell has nothing to do with it.
County election boards are bi-partisan. Two Democrats and Two Republicans make the decisions. The Ohio Secretary of State has nothing to do with it.

the secretary of state doesn't have much, if anything to do with the elections on a county level. Heck, each bipartisan county board chooses its own voting machines and where they go.

14. Kenneth Blackwell's Future....
...must be determined BY THE LEFT! Uh, that means us.

Kenneth Blackwell's future MUST be curtailed with regard to his political ambitions. ALL of the future political ambitions of the vote thieves must be destroyed! The Dems failed to adequately neutralize Gingrich, and so he is still around successfully aiding and abetting the fascist takeover of this country. Not until the Democratic Party and it's members steel themselves and learn to go directly for the throat and hang on until all movement ceases will we begin to take back our country.

Or symbol is the donkey, but we must imagine ourselves the wolf.

Fight or die, people.

15. Blackwell's future? -- Bleak after receiving judiciary letter Dec 2
Blackwell will have to plead the "fifth" and NOT answer some of the questions put to him from the judiciary committee investigating the "anomalies"...they're self incriminating, he can't respond with sensible-logical answers without appearing suspicious.

16. Ken Blackwell future
The way things go under the Bush administration he'll never be punished for his action. No one is ever held accountable for their behavior, mistakes, failures etc so long as they are Bush loyalists. I wouldn't be surprised if he was appointed to some cushy position. But hey, thats just my opinion. I may be wrong."

17. He may have been 'promised' alot, but he's gonna be wearing 'orange'...
Someone's going to have to take the 'fall' for all this, and he's perjuring himself all over the place. And just like the Abu Gharib scandal, someone other than the 'big guys' are going to have to take the blame. Plus he knows too much. He may have been 'promised' a lot for his 'help,' but in situations like this either he ends up taking the 'fall,' OR has a mysterious car crash, plane accident, etc.

I'd say his future looks bright. Look at the boost our old friend, that bitch, Kathleen Harris got. She'd voting on federal laws now. Blackwell should be more powerful than ever soon.

Note: If you folks from Ohio bump him up to a house seat, you will be the first state to fall when the blue state revolution comes. You and Indiana probably have to go anyway as we need to connect our islands of control. Do the right thing and throw him out and we'll consider humane treatment when we arrive(not compliance with the Geneva Conventions mind you, just treatment consistent with the conventions, whatever the hell that means).
