OMG Now a Food Scare ... Terrorism at the dinner table!
CNN gave us a hypothetical this morning from the mouth of Tommy Thompson, one of the most recent to step down from the Bush administration.

They covered all the ways terrorists could taint, poison and spread both major and minor diseases while pointing out how easy it is to do. Then they informed us that the breadbasket of the world now imports about half our food supply (are we still paying farmers not to grow things??) But folks don't worry cause we know terrorists don't watch TV and this is "hypothetical." But then CNN tells us that this is a VERY SERIOUS threat!

Obviously this is the newest "flavor of the week" and all CNN programs are featuring various versions of this "news" story throughout the day and evening as they continue not to report news but create it.

If Fox and MSNBC don't have it in their programming yet they will within the hour.

Watch for import food sales to decline since Fox let us know that all imports are required to have it on their labelling. Of course that doesn't include imported meat.

This fear mongering is so totally irresponsible. The terrorists have won and CNN, FOX, and MSNBC have handed them their victory.

1. Well, we have to have some distraction from the recount
and all of those "pesky" Dems who want their votes counted, now don't we? Can't have the public knowing what's going on in the real world.

5. I know....
I just found out from FOX my Morning Star vegetarian sausage supports Bin Laden! Disgraceful!

I quickly subdued the breakfast and shipped it off to Guantanamo.

4. I saw it this morning...
Don't worry, we're fine, but here's what might happen, and see how vulnerable we are!

I agree, there has to be distraction from the recount...I actually saw a story on CNN the other day about Ohio...wow!

No, I don't watch CNN regularly anymore, but happened to catch it.

6. That was kind of a demented "parting shot" on Thompson's part
which Bush of course automatically downplayed. Kind of a mooning as he went out the door. I don't get it. Why would Thompson do that if he was such a loyal BFEE whore?

8. You know it wasn't an accidental comment

and Thompson had to be told to make his comments. I agree with those who feel it's a diversion from the recounts, lawsuits, and charges of voter fraud and suppression. Food safety is something that will grab everyone and have them tune out anything else that's not as close to home as their dinner table. Dinner or democracy? We all know that Maslow's heirarchy of needs places dinner first.

10. Seeing as most terralert hysteria has been targeted to benefit corporation
...I'm betting that soon we will hear that only corporate agribusiness produced food will be "safe" for consumption.
