SSI is o.k. until 2055 per Harry Reid on Air America |
|
This game has been played before with Alan Greenspan and the Social Security funds. David Cay Johnston's book "Perfectly Legal" mentions how Sen Daniel Patrick Moynihan saw the 80's version of this SS scare as just a ploy by Reagan-era budget-busters to get at the SS funds to pay today's bills in Reagan's military/industrial/congress plan to bankrupt the Soviets while brinksmanshiping our own budget !
The Osama Bin Laden tape released in portions to our media, who never mention the big strategy of OBL--to bankrupt the US--failed to reveal this to the general public at the administration's request. We now know why.
Today Sen minority leader Harry Reid explained on Air America's Al Franken show that Soc Sec insurance is 100% funded up to the year 2055...
Greenspan, Bush and the Republican cabal don't want to pay-as-you-go, they want to do the Other People's Money route.

2. Uh... I believe that China just "announced" |
|
that no more credit will be extended.
See, that story that hit last week that China was reducing it's portfolio of US T-bills was a warning shot to the idiots in charge here that US deficits and fiscal policy will not go on forever... unless we start marching to our "bankers" tune.
I wonder how many bushco voters know just how far in debt we are to China... and what that means as far as our foreign policy or even domestic policy (hint, we can't afford a trade war about steel or something with China now).

But with 4-Mo of Bu$hco, I'll be surprised to ever see a cent of Social Security. Same goes for PBGC benefits (my pension was terminated on 3/31/2003 by US Airways, whose CEO - Dave Siegel- made over $10 million that year). When Bill Clinton left office, the PBGC was sitting pretty with over $7-billion in the black. Under the rapacious Bu$h regime, the PBGC has gone over $5-billion in the red. Folks, we have been robbed. I'm going back to college to start over again. I realize the total and frightening reality of just how fast these bastards are dismantling the American dream. I am preparing myself to work until I die, and I realize that that - in itself - will probably mean a shorter life.
All I want now is to see Bu$h disgraced, cashiered, and convicted. And I want to out-live him. I want to take a pilgrimage to his final resting place and piss on his grave. I have a feeling the line will be very, very long.

Yes it is fully funded as long as we can take out the surplus hundreds of billions of dollars we've been saving up all these years for when we're going to start needing them after 2018.
You guys are keeping good track of those hundreds of billions of dollars in the lockbox aren't you?
What do you mean it's gone?
All of it?
How do you lose hundreds of billions of dollars?
All of it is gone, pft, disappeared?
Yup all of it.
Then I guess we won't be okay after 2018 will we?
