Antonin Scalia committed treason on December 12, 2000 |
|
This was the worst act of treason ever committed in our country and it should not be rewarded. No one who supports this traitor as Chief Justice deserves to be the leader of our party. Call on Reid to step down as minority leader and let a real Democrat, Dick Durbin take over. No more Republicans for Democrtic leadership positions.

And it was more than that. He received a direct benefit from committing treason. His two sons were working of for the lawfirm that represented Bush. One of them was hired during the case.

Constitution. That definition of treason does not seem to be there. On the other hand, there may be other laws that apply. but trreason? Get a grip. Elections have been stolen before.
Merry Christmas:-)

16. Ah, well, that's what |

the dispute was about. I'm not happy with the decision, it was a bad, poorly thought out decision, but it was the SC's job to do it, seeing as how it went to court. Even though this was the suit that GWB* filed, it wouldn't have had any significance at all if VP Gore had not decided to contest the election. * would have won because he had the most counted votes before it went to court. Things would have been different today if Gore had been elected, but no, I don't think it was treason because that is not how treason is defined in the Constitution.

Bush v. Gore was an act of treason and violation of Scalia's oath to uphold the constitution.

9. Heck, guys, if you have trouble with this opinion... |
|
you need to read some of the rest.
Morally, you may be correct. Technically, I believe that you are not.
And ... I don't believe that Reid 'supported' him. I believe that he is indicating that he is the lesser of two evils, and I believe that is correct, although it still will be a disaster for my cause. Scalia, however, understands some basic legal principles and case precedent and history, unlike another who will go unmentioned.
Scalia is so far right, and I believe that his actions will be totally objectionable - no doubt - but his vote will not count more than the rest. Let us hope that common sense takes over the minds of each member of the court!
I'm waiting to see about Reid. Was impressed with what he said on Franken's show this morning. Seems like he wants to work with the progressive community.

10. Vincent Bugliosi (Manson Family prosecutor) |
|
wrote a book on it. "It was also treasonous, asserts Bugliosi, if not by statute it does not fit the legal definition of treason at least in spirit; the five justices are "criminals in the very truest sense of the word," he says, who have exhibited "the morals of an alley cat." http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/156025355X/qid=1102372396/sr=2-3/ref=pd_ka_b_2_3/104-8740070-0715908

11. He is guilty of treason. |
|
He issued an "emergency" order halting the counting of votes at a time when Bush's lead was hair thin and shrinking. There was no rationale given for this. He subsequently appointed Bush to the office. He abused his office to subvert the will of the people and appoint an un-elected person to the presidency. A subsequent investigation proved that Bush lost the vote in Florida. The only thing preventing him from being impeached is the balance of political power in the House and Senate.
He wants to remove the seperation between church and state and establish a theocracy. He has conspired to overthrow the elected governement.
