I worry a lot about Schwartznegger's shannanigans
I'm really afraid that California is going to be pushed into the red zone before anybody knows what hits them. Some of his happy ideas are reapportioning the districts, ala Tom Delay, splitting California's 55 electoral votes and turning the legislature into a part-time job. All these things can be accomplished by ballot initiative. If any of these things happen, game over.

Forget Canada, New York is looking pretty good from here. I could get behind Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

2. I've been thinking the same thing....
if only I could take that cold weather.

I hear a lot of talk from Freeper acquaintances stating that California is not Democratic, 'it's moderate.'

There seems to be a push toward not seeing us as a blue state anymore, and I dont' like it.

3. It's highly unlikely that most of those ideas will come to pass
But there is a GOP threat in CA. It comes from many of the southern counties which are growing at a rapid pace and are solidly red. We need to stop taking California for granted and start some real grassroots movements in those areas. Otherwise, there is a possibility, albeit small, that we could lose CA.

4. I heard that Kerry won San Diego
San Diego used to be solidly knuckledrag, but the demographics is changing there.

5. I think he won San Diego
but barely lost the county. I think. Regardless, it was real close. Yes, San Diego has changed a lot, and that's a good sign. But it's some of the other counties like San Bernadino that pose a challenge. You know, all those rich areas that are just outside of L.A. Their populations are expected to explode in the next decade. Who knows, maybe as they grow, what happened to San Diego will happen to them and their demographics will change as well. But I am a little worried that if we sit back and do nothing, we might regret it.

I'm not panicking yet, I'm just a little nervous. Taking California is a Republican dream, and they will stop at nothing to achieve it. But remember, Kerry still won it by over 1.2 million votes, and I'm convinced that he won it be even more but the voting machines in some of those southern counties padded Bush's numbers a little. That's a huge margin for them to overcome. But if we sit back and do nothing, it's not not impossible.

6. Can Schwartznegger recite the alphabet?
Actually Kerry won several counties here in Minnesota that have always gone red. He should have won by more. There was fraud all over the country. Look at some of the Senate races. I think there should be recounts in all of the close races. Alaska's doing it. Why isn't Betty Castor of Florida? Something must be up, or at least I hope so!
