C-Span video is up now with David Jones and the ad.

He starts speaking at 2:58 in. I guess it is the very casual way he says they meant to bring him down. He is so casual. He says Dean was ahead, and he says Dean was more moderate than he said...so that was why. He simply treats it matter of factly.

How sad. We knew Dean was moderate, he was very much so. Is this what we are about now?

Dean attacked his opponents, but he did it openly. He did not form a secret 527 with others to bring down anyone.

My husband and I felt inspired for the first time in ages about this party. Someone was saying what we felt so strongly, that our party was going in the wrong direction.

I listened to it tonight, about 5 minutes is all it takes. I realized that our party and our country are not about the people anymore. It is all about power, and polls, and not criticizing your party even if it is wrong.

They did a lot of harm to a lot of people new to politics who felt inspired.

1. Jones was obviously for Kerry at that point. Here are the points.
They used Dean's NRA endorsement against him.

They tried to "peel" off anti-war votes. This was bad because the others in the running then were for this war, not against it. Think about that a moment.

They used his one-time support for NAFTA, even though he was saying each day that the rights of the workers needed to be negotiated, not the the rights of the corporations.

Jones obviously cared nothing about the issues. As he repeatedly states, the 3 ads were meant to bring down Howard Dean. Issues did not matter, only "peeling off votes." mattered.

3. I wish you could hear him...it is very outrageous. They played games.
And it has taken its toll on us. We feel utterly discouraged now about everything. Listening to him talk about the manipulation and being proud of it just made me sick.
