General George W. Eisenhower?
I think I've figured out the WH rationale for George W's new uniform:

Ike in 1952 (during the campaign)

George W. "Moran" in 2004

I had made the Il Duce/ Dr. Evil/Sgt. Pepper comparisons on my blog (http://ascrivenerslament.blogspot.com/), but I knew there had to be a WH rationale behind this newest idiocy.

What do you think?

4. Look at the cut of those jackets.
The slight differences (collar, color) are probably deliberate.

The similarities, however, are amazing.

7. Oh, I understand the White House's intent...
... in costuming George as they have, but the effect is wholly different than intended. :P

6. Ike's doing cartwheels in his grave as we speak.
Eisenhower knew the Bush Criminal Empire in its early stages. It was Prescott Bush who introduced Ike to Dick Nixon and put that ticket together.

But Eisenhower realized what their self perpetuating "military-industrial complex" was truly all about and didn't want any part of the agenda. He tried to warn the American people. Damn shame that over 40 years after, we haven't learned a damn thing.

8. Ike's integrity probably inspired this new uniform (IMHO).
They failed at comparing the chimp to Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt...

and they certainly don't want anyone comparing him to Nixon.

Who's left but Ike?

11. The hat wouldn't be subtle enough...
to fool the backside of the bell curve.

It would be funny, though.

12. You can buy jackets like that at the Credibility Gap.
I honestly do not remember but do all presidents wear clothing with their name/title on display?

kinda 4-H-ish

13. I don't remember any other prez doing that.
I'm sure we would have had non-stop coverage had Clinton done that.
