My political intuition is right
The man Warner was planning to oppose in 2006, Senator Allen, also is hearing presidential talk—although geography works against him. Every Republican elected president since 1968 has been from California or Texas.

But Allen will not lack for encouragement to leave the Senate and run for president. Two ambitious Republican congressmen, Eric Cantor of Richmond and Tom Davis of Fairfax, are both anxious for Allen to move on so they might move up.

In a previous thread I mentioned George Allen will be the GOP nominee in 2008.

1. He should start putting his face on milk cartons then...
I don't have a clue to who he is and if
he's republican, who cares.

2. That's been floating among some GOP circles for a while.
I remember hearing Kate O'Beirne mention it on Capitol Gang at least well over a year ago, and about wanted to hurl.

He was an awful Governor, and he is an awful Senator.

But, apparently some of these Family Values police groups are now accusing him of having the most gay Senate staffers, and may be making some noise about GOPers cleaning house with their gay staff. Such assholes. But, I do find it amusing that Allen might be in hot water with the right for being so tolerant, since the right wing is definitely his base here in Virginia.

But I just hope to goodness that man has no political future. He's a creep.

3. Many have predicted that he would be a candidate. I agree.
