Another example of the crappy "morals" of bushbots

I was listening to FM radio in my car, which I usually do. I am free from the mental midgets of AM "hatio" but I passed one station where a guy was saying that up to one-quarter of all homeless are veterans and that got my attention so I stopped.

He then said we are starting to see the first homeless veterans who have come back from IRAQ. They are usually suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and have no kind of family or other support network to help them.

I'm nodding along when he says this:

"I just hope people don't use these things against President Bush. I hate it when they do that. It's not his fault. And all this 'unjust war' talk.....I hate it when they hold that against the President. One quarter of homeless being vets--that's not THAT BAD."

The ENTIRE rest of his rant was all about bush's IMAGE.

He gave a phone number, I took a chance and tried to call, figuring I wouldn't get in. Well, it must be a crappy little show, because there was no competition to call and I got right in. Here's what I told him:

"You said one-quarter of homeless being vets isn't THAT BAD. Well you know what? I think even ONE veteran being homeless is one too many. These are people who gave their ALL to their country, they should be treated the BEST, not as the least. They should have the BEST healthcare, easy access to good counseling, both emotional and career counseling, they should be NEVER be hassled by the government and they should NEVER EVER be living on the streets. We should all hang our heads in shame that even ONE veteran can't find a place to sleep in this, the richest country on earth. And the fact that all you are worried about is how it LOOKS for bush tells me a lot about you and other bush supporters, none of it surprising, because you are a craven bunch, TOTALLY lacking in morals and integrity and true compassion."

I stopped and he said "OK thanks for the call" and went to a commercial break. I know I was on because I heard my words, lagging a few seconds behind on the radio.

Asshole. I still don't even know what the guy's name was.

2. it goes back to that worship thing

these are people who MUST HAVE A LEADER, and preferably one as stupid and bigoted as they are. They love him. They are just like him. They believe he is just like they are, except perhaps a bit closer to god.

And all other facts are irrelevant, or worse, harmful lies designed to shake their faith.

The other thing I would have asked the guy is, "did you ever serve in the military? Did you ever risk your life for our country? If your legs had been blown off and the government didn't pay for your ongoing treatment and housing after you had sacrificed them, would you just hide in the shadows trying not to make the evil bastard who made you crippled and homeless 'look bad'?

They're so effing stupid - just a waste of protoplasm.

You know, I had suspected this leader worship shit in a lot of bushbots but this was the first time I had really heard it out loud. I mean he was SO worried people were going to use this against bush.......
