Biden Says Eyeing 2008 White House Run

Biden sets foot on road to 1600 Pennsylvania

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Wednesday became the first to declare his 2008 intentions, if not his candidacy, in what may well turn into a stampede of hopefuls in both parties.

"Are you going to run this time?" Don Imus asked him on MSNBC's Imus in the Morning.

"Well, I'm going to proceed as if I'm going to run," Biden said. He said he would make a "hard" decision in two years, based on whether he thinks the country is ready for him and his ideas. "I don't want to do this for the exercise," he said.

At least three other senators are proceeding as if they're going to run: this year's Democratic ticket, John Kerry (news - web sites) and John Edwards (news - web sites), and Republican John McCain of Arizona. All are making or planning trips to Iowa or New Hampshire, states with early contests.

1. Wes Clark 08'
I'd like to see Mark Warner, Howard Dean, Barack Obama, or Jim Hunt as the V.P candidate to run with Clark, but my first choice is Wes Clark!

12. Unlike IWPR, the vast majority of people have no clue about Gonzales.
Nor would they understand why he's harmful. Nor do the Democrats have any chance of stopping his nomination.

3. Great!!!
A Northern Senator from a "swing" state <sarcasm> with hair plugs....that oftentimes wears a pink tu-tu and was in full agreement with Bush at the onset of the Iraq War. I remember him on Charlie Rose being a Pink Tu-Tu Democrat....

The ultimate "stick your finger to the wind" politician. Talks sh*t when he has nothing to lose. Walks the line when he does.

14. NO OBAMA
He guaranteed he wll serve at least 1 full term in the senate, and I admire him enough to think he isn't a lier. He'd be too inexperianced anyway. Wait for 2016, or maybe 2012 at the absolute earliest.

6. Sure Hope He Does...
I would have wet myself over a Biden/Clark or Clark/Biden ticket last time around. That is a winner in my book!

7. why bother having any elections until
the wonderful voting system we have is reformed cuz I'm sure the repukes already have this one all rigged-up, too! May as well save all the hassles and money. Maybe all the saved campaign money can go to our soldiers in Iraq and their families.

Here's an idea...screw the $40 million Inauguaration hoopla in 2005 and use the $$$ for Voting Reform! Or better yet...a revote of the 2004 Election!

11. Forget Hillary,
I'm sick and tired of people getting elected because they have a famous relative that gives them "name recognition". Didn't we get rid of the aristocratic class's hereditary right to power when we threw out the Brits! Kennedy's, Clinton's and Bush's are all MY enemy. Although Teddy WAS fun during the election season.

End hereditary political privlege and stop giving jobs to widows/widowers because their dead spouse was more popular than the living competitor! Vive la revolution!

9. Asshole Biden
There is NO WAY the mastermind of the RAVE act is getting my vote, and don't expect anyone under 25 to cheer this guy.
