Double Standard for Rumsfeld
...Just a passing thought. Back in 1993, following the infamous “Blackhawk Down “ disaster in Somalia, Clinton’s Secretary of Defense Les Aspin resigned amidst allegations that he had failed to provide the troops in Somalia with the armored support they needed to do their mission. House and Senate Republicans, including several who hold majority leadership positions today, were in the forefront calling for Aspin’s ouster.

Why then aren’t these same voices calling for the resignation of Donald “As you know, you go to war with the Army you have. They're not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time.” Rumsfeld? Aspin’s Somalian botch resulted in the deaths of 18 US servicemen and the wounding of 75. Rumsfeld’s apparent failure to insure proper armor protection for US troops has already, to date, resulted in more lives lost or maimed than happened in Somalia....

2. One Other Thing to Point Out
Colin Powell was the Chairman of the JCS, and advised both Clinton and Aspin, that sending in armor would only cause more problems.

After "Blackhawk Down" incident, Clinton made his own decisions, and according to what was written by Richard Clarke, no more US military personnel lost their lives in Somalia.

But somehow, Powell's part in the original decision has gotten very little play in the media, and he's been given a free walk since.

4. The media is owned and controled
by corporations that profit from Republican endless war agendas.

3. Wait a second - you expect murrica to remember something that
happened 11 years ago?

Murricans have no respect for history or facts.

5. Following that logic...
Condi Rice would have been thrown out on her ugly ass after 9/11 instead of being promoted to AG.

6. Too True. There is a pretty long list under b* that should be pounding
pavement right now. The media is partially to blame for giving them a pass for 4 years, but Americans have just completely lost their moral compasses.

It's like we've become accustomed to a lower standard. It's scary.

7. The theme is, Bushies love the military, and vice versa, and that's that
Bush is back on the air, saying that any soldier would want to know if he was getting the best of the best equipment. Well, Bush, you dick, so would any president trying to do his job. Give a shit about your fellow Americans for a change, Bush.
