God Bless Hillary and Chuck Shumer
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 07:02 PM by CatWoman
Randi reported, prior to signing off, that the vet whose arm was blown off in Iraq, and the military was withholding his pay until his debt was paid, has had his debt paid and wiped clean by the New York Dems.

2. They're not getting off that easy from me
Both are enthusiatically supportive of Kerik, who's a particularly nasty piece of work on about a dozen different levels.

4. After reading this I'm madder than a bull elephant..
Why in hell does the military treat our soldiers that way? This is not the first story like this I've heard of and it's really hard to take.

They want our people to go to Iraq and get killed or maimed but when you get back to the States you're ON YOUR OWN. Geeesh, unbelievable.

If you can't get home, oh well, that's tough, buddy! That's compassionate conservatism I guess.

Good for Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton. It's good PR for them but nonetheless a good deed and makes me proud to be a Democrat.

9. Yep, Hillary gets LittleClarkie points for that
and for checking into the other cases.

Damn, these people really don't know what "Support the Troops" means do they. When Bush said to seek out the families of troops and help them, he should have added, "Because we sure ain't gonna."

5. According to CNN
Hillary took the issue to the Pentagon, & they straightened it out.

There were other soldiers in the same mess, & now they are all being taken care of.

The family is very, very grateful to Hillary.

6. Boy, I'm enormously grateful to her.
Now, did she and other pay for the debt, or get it erased? And I wonder if this young man needs some more help. Gosh, there should be a way to contribute to helping these guys who came back from this unnecessary war without limbs, etc. Any ideas?

7. According to the Pentagon, it was a bureaucratic error
& they will be fixing the problem...IOW, they will take care of them.

11. Oh, sure.
Could it be that things changed because they were publicly embarassed?

10. from the mililtary
theres a ton of military in wv, and i have to say, stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME.

its a beauracractic mess, and congressman and women are extraordinarily valuable here, b/c individual soldiers often get lost in the system until somebody raises it to someone's attention
