Question RE: voting irregularities/the "sorry" state of the DNC
I question just popped into my head and I would love to hear DUers thoughts on this. Lets assume that someone is able to prove the voting irregularities in OH and Kerry is declared the winner (big if, but a brutha can dream can't he), if that does happen would all the criticisms of the DNC, McAuliffe, Kerry et al. be null and void? I have been very critical of the type of campaign Kerry ran, however because he was the nominee I am 100% in his corner. But if it is proven that he was robbed in Ohio and he actually did win, then is our criticism invalid?

Just wondering. . .your thoughts?

1. If Kerry won, he won with only 53% at best.
Far from a landslide, still lots of room for DLC improvement.

3. You say that now, but everybody said it would be a close election. . .
. . .if he had won on election night, most people (including a lot of DUers) would not be bashing him or the DNC the way that they are now.

4. Nah, I was bashing the DLC way back.
And still, it would be delayed for sure during a honeymoon period, but I still think it wouldn't change the fact that the party has to change. Most people that voted for Kerry were voting "Anyone but Bush." That's not a mandate any more than Chimp has.

7. there is no way this election should have been close
the only thing we can't control is the media. But even the media can be managed to some extent with a disiplined message and campaign operation.
If it is proven that Kerry won it will be because he wasn't bush. People are simply going to have to aknowledge that. I never remember a time where the general feeling amoung activists was that they were working to get rid of someone rather than to elect someone. "Anybody's better than bush" If I heard it once I heard it 2000 times during the campaign.

2. In my opinion..........
no. Our Party has been high jacked by a group of money grubbing Corporate shills and they deserve all the criticism thrown their way. It wouldn't change a thing as far as I'm concerned. We have to take our Party back from the whores.

5. the only thing that changes is the analysis of how people voted and why
Every other criticism is just as valid.

6. My criticism would not change...
All along I thought that the DNC and McAuliffe and his bunch did a piss-poor job during this election campaign and I wrote to them constantly letting them know of my dissatisfaction and all they did was to ask for more money. If Kerry is declared the winner, it will surprise the DNC more than it will surprise the Republicans because the DNC, under McAuliffe, IMO, was working to keep Kerry from BEING elected. McAuliffe can just go Cheney himself! And take that wench Mary Beth Cahill with him!

YYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

8. There is still
40% of eligable voters that DID NOT vote. I think the reason was they didn't see a difference between partys. We're either left or we're right...the middle is too muddled and people will just figure there is no difference.

Let's go after that 40% more...
