Democrats, Communication and Outreach
I hope whoever is chosen as DNC chair does the following -

Get a decent web server and simulcast all Democratic meetings, including things like today's selection of DNC Chair proceedings.

Offer a feed to outlets like Democracy Now and Air America Radio.

Support independent liberal talk radio, like Guy James Show. And buy commercials on AAR and other commercial liberal talk radio. Support independent loacl TV stations if they exist too, if they cover Democratic issues.

See what cities have city govt TV and see if time can be bought when there is no city business to cover. Put Dem outreach type programming on.

We need a weekly or monthly publication - newspaper or magizine - filled with Democratic issues and viewpoints.

You get the idea - we need to create our own alternative media to get our message out, all over the country. This is especially important in red and purple states. Where is Al Gore with his TV station?
We cannot depend on any TV news outlets anymore. Even CBS has taken a hard right. CNN and MSNBC are pathetic and don't balance out FOX unfair and unbalanced at all. We have to communicate with the people we want to vote Dem, and motivate aand activate our base.

know what the fuck they're doing, because this crop does not.

Your ideas are good, and frankly, if we had communications/media people who knew ANYTHING about ANYTHING, we'd have had some of those ideas implemented long ago.

I mean, a monthly publication is PR 101 for pete's sake.

2. Well, Howard Dean and Joe Trippi did this in the Dean campaign
as much as they could afford. We are not going to get fair and acurate coverage on any current TV media, except maybe CSpan. We have to build our own communications system!

3. liberal media could make conservative media obsolete
think about how much better this country was under Clinton than it is now. But I think alot of liberals don't like to take strong stands against terrorism for fear of being politically incorrect. I think the last election showed you need to do more than be able to bash bush. You have to be able to get your hands dirty, and that means more than just vague religious stuff. I agree with the thing Dean said the other day about fighting off the ropes. I would like to start a liberal kung fu temple

4. It's not a matter of liberal and conservative except for talk radio
The corporate media is more concerned with ratings than news, and right now they spew out the RNC talking points and WH press releases.
